Production
Production is the outer crafting stage that turns raw materials, refined materials, and Crafting Components into finished equipment, consumables, decorations, and further components. It also includes equipment improvement through masterworking and enchanting.
Disciplines
| Discipline | Major outputs and services | Key guides |
|---|---|---|
| Blacksmithing | Metal weapons, heavy armor, shields, jewelry, repair, salvage, and masterworking | Armor Enhancement, Weapon Enhancement, Jewelry Enhancement |
| Carpentry | Bows, hafted weapons, foci, furniture, instruments, structures, repair, salvage, and masterworking | Weapon Enhancement, Focus Enhancement |
| Tailoring | Cloth and leather armor, clothing, cloaks, backpacks, decorations, repair, salvage, and masterworking | Armor Enhancement |
| Cooking | Food, drink, intermediate ingredients, pet food, and specialty consumables | Food |
| Alchemy | Potions, poisons, dyes, gems, jewels, socketing, enchantment, and specialized upgrades | Enchantment, Socketing |
From materials to finished goods
- Choose a recipe and confirm its station, tool, skill requirement, ingredients, and output.
- Select exact components. Different forms of the same material can contribute different bonuses.[1]
- Craft at the matching Crafting Station.
- Where eligible, apply masterworking, enchantment, socketing, repair, or salvage.
The stages overlap. Production skills can create components used by another Production discipline, and some recipes consume raw resources directly. Follow the recipe rather than assuming every item follows a single Gathering → Refining → Production line.
What production requires
| Requirement | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Recipe knowledge | Defines accepted ingredients, tools, station, skill, and output |
| Correct station | Opens the discipline's recipes and services |
| Correct tool | Must be present, usable, and appropriate to the recipe |
| Ingredients and components | Quantities and substitutions must match the recipe |
| Production skill | Controls access or results according to the recipe and discipline |
| Producer Experience | Supplies the pool used to train crafting skills |
Equipment production
Finished equipment can inherit bonuses from multiple accepted components. The base material name is insufficient: compare the blade, sheet, wire, binding, handle, bowstave, Heartwood, bolt, leather piece, or strap actually used. Material Crafting Bonus provides the versioned source table; the equipment-family enhancement guides explain how those bonuses combine.
Masterworking and enchanting add later effects and can affect durability. Socketing uses eligible gems or jewels and has equipment restrictions. Consult the exact upgrade page before committing valuable gear.
Consumables and decorations
Cooking and Alchemy produce consumables whose effects, durations, channel costs, or targets belong to the finished item record. All five disciplines also contain decorative or specialty recipes. Being listed under a Production skill does not mean an item accepts material substitutions or equipment enhancements.
Version and verification
Recipe pages commonly include a lastseen release. This records verification timing, not introduction. When checking a production recipe, note the release, station, tool, skill, exact ingredients and component variants, output, tooltip, durability, and any success chance.
