Milling
Milling is a Refining crafting discipline that turns harvested wood, scraps, and fuel into timber, boards, poles, handles, bowstaves, Heartwood, and other wooden components. Its products feed primarily into Carpentry. Component form matters: timber, handles, bowstaves, and Heartwood from the same wood family can carry different recorded bonuses.[1]

- Forestry gathers wood.
- Milling combines the exact wood with Creosote, scraps, or other listed materials to make refined timber.
- Further recipes shape timber into boards, poles, handles, stocks, bowstaves, Heartwood, and bindings.
- Carpentry or another discipline assembles compatible components into finished items.
The individual recipe is authoritative. A Wood Rasp or Wood Chisel is required only where listed; the normal Milling tool is the Cubit Measure. Release 50 added batch, speed, and bonus-output skills for qualifying refined-material recipes.[2]
Outputs and component choice
| Family | Examples | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Timber | Pine Timber, Maple Timber, and special variants | Milling recipes |
| Boards and poles | Boards, poles, and construction pieces | Crafting Component |
| Weapon parts | Handles, bowstaves, stocks, and bindings | Weapon Enhancement |
| Focus parts | Heartwood and compatible wooden components | Focus Enhancement |
| Scrap recovery | Timber from qualifying Wood Scrap recipes | Individual recipe |
Compare the exact component, not wood names alone. A bow requires its matching bowstave and string; a hafted weapon combines a head with a compatible handle; a wand or staff combines Heartwood with straps. Versioned values belong on the enhancement guides.

Recorded skills
| Increases batch count for Milling refine materials recipes | |
| Adds chance to gain bonus materials for Milling refine materials recipes | |
| Proficiency in Milling | |
| Decreases crafting time for Milling refine materials recipes |
- Milling Proficiency raises Milling level (recorded Release 28).
- Batching Materials - Milling increases qualifying batch size.
- Swift Refine Materials - Milling reduces qualifying refinement time.
- Efficient Refine Materials - Milling adds a chance for bonus output.
The specialized skills record Release 50. Batching does not waive ingredients, and efficiency is a chance rather than a guaranteed result. Confirm that a component or conversion is classified as a refined-material recipe.
Recipes and verification
The generated index draws from individual item pages and retains a broad verification notice. Edit the underlying recipe record, not the list. A lastseen value is a verification release, not an introduction date. When testing, record the release, station, tool, exact inputs, batch size, outputs, bonus results, and component tooltip.
