Sailable ship homes

From Shroud of the Avatar Wiki - SotA
Not yet available: Sailing player-owned ship homes is built but switched off.
Six ship-home models prepared for sailing during development. They are not sailable by players yet.

Sailable ship homes are nine water-home models prepared to leave their lots and sail. The planned system lets an owner or co-owner launch the home with its decorations aboard, but it is not currently available to players.[1]

Supported homes

Water ship home Minimum waterfront lot Planned sailing note
Lord Town Waterfront Houseboat Town Intended to operate in some shallow harbours that cannot float the galleons.
Baron City Waterfront Frigate City Its model has crow's nests for the planned lookout system.
Baron City Waterfront Galleon City Its model has crow's nests for the planned lookout system.
Pirate Galleon (Town Water Home) Town Has a sailing vessel scaled for the Town-sized home in development.
Pirate Galleon (City Water Home) City Its model has a crow's nest; the lookout effect is unavailable.
Haunted Pirate Galleon (City Water Home) City Its model has a crow's nest; the lookout effect is unavailable.
Shogun Ship (City Water Home) City Is intended to use the same ship-home furnishing rules.
Huge Pirate Galleon (Water Keep Home) Keep 73 metres long, with rope ladders and a crow's nest for the planned lookout system.
Giant Pirate Galleon (Water Castle Home) Castle 94 metres long, with rope ladders and a crow's nest for the planned lookout system.

Six full-size ship models were sailing during the October 26 harbour test. The Town Pirate Galleon later received a vessel matching its smaller home, while the Huge and Giant Pirate Galleons completed the nine-home set on October 31.[2][3]

Planned operation

  1. The owner or a co-owner would use the water home's lot sign to set sail.
  2. The ship would leave the lot and appear in the water with its crew and decorations aboard.
  3. The crew would sail within the town harbour using the ordinary Sailing controls.
  4. After returning to the berth and tying off, the helmsman would be offered the option to moor the home back on its lot.

The development system includes harbour-chart support and depth restrictions. These details are not current player instructions while ship-home sailing remains disabled.[1]

Planned open-sea behavior

When enabled, sailing out of town is intended to leave the decorated house on its lot and carry the crew onto The Great Sea aboard a bare copy of the vessel. The development description gives that copy a fifteen-minute lifetime after its owners or helmsman leave it.[1] This behavior remains switched off.[4]

Dry-docked homes

Dry-docked and shipwrecked land-home versions are not part of the nine water ship homes. Their pages should not be given sailing instructions merely because they share art or a name with a sailable water version.
