Anchoring and mooring

Anchoring and mooring stop a player-controlled vessel and make it available for boarding or going ashore. While steering a ship or rowing a rowboat, use the interact control to perform the stop action appropriate to the vessel's position: drop anchor in open water or tie off where mooring is allowed.[1]

Boarding and going ashore

An anchored or beached vessel offers Climb aboard from its side. A recognized crew member aboard can use the available Go ashore interaction.[1] When approaching a supported destination from The Great Sea, the helmsman can choose to go ashore or continue sailing.[2]

The launch notes record one known limitation: going ashore uses the destination's ordinary arrival point because harbours do not yet have dockside Set Sail spots.[2] This limitation should be rechecked after later patches.

Harbour vessels

A harbour's own boat returns to its berth about five minutes after its crew sails away with it.[2] The public notes do not provide a complete list of vessels governed by that rule.
