Using points
POIS saves named locations within a scene and displays them as colored labels in the world. Its main window is the everyday place to add, find, rename, show, hide, recolor, and remove points.[1]
In version 1.23.0, every point whose Show flag is enabled can also appear on the region map and minimap. POIS displays at most the 50 nearest visible points in the current scene, uses the point's chosen color, and gives point-library entries a diamond marker. Markers are automatically removed in PvP scenes.
Open POIS
Use /pois to open the main window. The movable tray provides shortcuts: the large POIS icon opens the main window, + adds a point, and the title-bar control shows or hides all points in the current scene. The tray can be collapsed when only the shortcuts are needed.
Add and edit a point
- Stand at the location to record.
- Select Add in the main window or
+on the tray. - Enter a descriptive name and choose a color.
- Save the point. POIS records the character's current position in the current scene.
The main list shows the current scene's points and their live distance from the character. Select a color swatch to cycle its color, select a point name to rename it, or use On/Off to control its world label. Deleting a personal point asks for confirmation.
Library points behave differently: their names and source coordinates belong to the library and cannot be renamed or deleted in POIS. Their color and visibility can still be overridden locally.
Find and filter points
The search box narrows the current-scene list. Color controls filter by color, while All On and All Off change the visibility of the current scene's points. Find searches across all saved scenes and groups matches under friendly scene names.
The main, tracking-selection, tracked-points, and export-selection windows each display at most 30 rows. When a scene has more matches, narrow the main list with search or color filters. The affected selection windows report that more entries exist.[1]
World labels
A visible point appears only while its scene is active. View distance, label scale, height offset, and optional distance text are controlled in Settings; see Configuration and troubleshooting. Tracking a point temporarily forces its label visible even if that point was switched off.
