RELEASE 146, January 29, 2026
Release 146 went live on January 29, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. CST. It delivered functional display cabinets for most player-placeable dolls, added a new basket recipe, improved crafting-station ingredient guidance, adjusted the Gallery encounter in the Rise, and added Lonely Mountain to Novia's player-owned towns.[1]
The official patch-note sections contain 29 entries across crafting, interface, world, quest, and player-owned town work. That figure counts published entries rather than bugs fixed and does not include the longer Doll Cabinet feature explanation.[1]
At a glance
| Area | What changed |
|---|---|
| Doll displays | The Macabre Doll Cabinet became functional for most placeable dolls, with optional wallboards and special ambience planned around displayed dolls. |
| Crafting and decoration | A lidded basket recipe arrived, station ingredient highlighting became more accurate, and several platforms, thrones, foods, staves, mugs, and fireworks boxes were cleaned up. |
| Encounters and quests | Krampus spawning was revised, the Gallery in the Rise became faster and denser, and several travel and reward problems were fixed. |
| Player-owned towns | Lonely Mountain joined Novia, and swamp templates received stuck-spot and removable-tree improvements. |
| Seasonal transition | The general winter snow covering ended outside permanently snowy scenes. |
Dolls finally get their cabinets
The delayed Macabre Doll Cabinet was functional enough to ship to qualifying Ultra-Rare doll purchasers shortly after the R146 patch. Each cabinet could display one doll, and every player-placeable doll except the equippable Creepy Dolly had been prepared for cabinet placement.[1]
The Macabre cabinet was designed to add environmental decoration around its displayed doll, while a planned Fancy cabinet used a cleaner museum-display style. Three optional wallboards could replace individual glass sides. Dolls placed in cabinet slots remained separate items and returned to an appropriate container, bank, or inventory when removed.[1]
Several refinements were still being finalized at launch, including wallboard placement and the Macabre environmental effects. The Fancy cabinet was also reserved for a later patch. R146 therefore marks the functional delivery of the overdue display system, not the completion of every announced cabinet feature.
Baskets and better ingredient guidance

Decoration merchants in South Paladis gained a recipe for the Short Round Basket with Lid. The Artisan Box of Plenty received higher loot drops, while Wicker Tray bindings were restricted to plain maple and pine to protect more valuable wood from accidental use.[1]
Crafting-station ingredient highlighting became more accurate. Wood Scrap was added to carpentry's valid white list because it appears in the wicker-tray recipe, and Small Balls of Clay received the same treatment at smelting stations for ceramic trays. Gift boxes were removed from blacksmithing's list because no recipe used them.[1]
Stone and mixed stone-and-wood platform blocks were flagged as exterior floors, expanding what could be placed on them. Stone foyer dragons received corrected placement flags, ornate fish thrones gained better top-surface collision, and steaming soups made their steam easier to see. Ornate Mage Staves and glowing mugs gained distance culling as decorations, while fireworks boxes had unnecessary asset flags removed.[1]
Interface polish
Eight skill and combo descriptions changed the grammatical form “increase” to “increases.” Large Yule cacti also received corrected pricing.[1] Neither adjustment changed the underlying mechanics; they aligned displayed text and prices with the intended data.
Winter ends, but Krampus gets notes for next year
The seasonal blanket of snow ended except in scenes that are always snowy. In East Sanctus Forest and Naughty Brat encounters, post-New-Year Krampus spawning was repaired. The East Sanctus Forest wave battle was also revised to make Krampus appear more consistently.[1]
The official notes acknowledge that the latter change could not be tested again until the following seasonal cycle. That caveat matters: it was a shipped correction whose full holiday behavior still awaited its next real-world test.
A busier Gallery and smoother travel
The Gallery in the Rise, also called the Library or Mage Room, received a substantial encounter adjustment. Its nine-minute respawn timer was reduced by one third to six minutes, the minimum starting population rose from one enemy to six, and a stray skeleton disappeared from a side room.[1] Returning adventurers should therefore expect faster and more consistent opposition.
Myrkur's ranged and melee elves in scaled Episode Two scenes began awarding experience when killed. Eastreach Gap reopened a cliffside exit, and the Westend town crier gained a compass discovery location.[1]
Stuck spots were repaired southwest of Brightbone Pass, in Blood Bay, and at two locations in Nightshade Pass. These fixes reduced the usual hazards of discovering that the most dangerous part of a fortress is sometimes its rock face.
Lonely Mountain joins Novia

Lonely Mountain was added as a new player-owned town west of the city of Mud.[1] Both Swamp Island POT templates received a stuck-spot correction on the rocks of a small secondary island.
The Swamp 01a template also replaced numerous hand-placed trees with trees painted onto the terrain layer. This allowed tree-removal objects and other placements to clear them properly. The announcement noted that other templates would be evaluated in future releases rather than implying that all town templates had already been converted.[1]
Rewards and release events

Subscribers who logged in during R146 received a Dyeable Elven Mage Staff, a Replenishing Pink Pinwheel Fireworks Box, and six mixed Victorian Valentine's Cards. The general February login reward was a Mug of Cocoa, twelve pink sparklers, and twelve pink rockets.[1]
The post-release livestream was scheduled for January 30. Related Valentine's Day furnishings, gifts, fireworks, and patterns entered the Crown Store on announced schedules.[1] These rewards and dates are historical release information rather than current availability.
What returning players should know
- The Macabre Doll Cabinet can display one eligible doll, but some cabinet refinements were still pending at launch.
- The Creepy Dolly was excluded because its equippable implementation required additional work.
- The Gallery in the Rise respawns in six rather than nine minutes and starts with at least six enemies.
- Lonely Mountain appears west of Mud in Novia.
- Swamp 01a has more terrain-painted trees that respond to removal and placement tools.
- Seasonal Krampus changes shipped with a note that their full behavior could not be tested until the next holiday cycle.
R146 by the numbers

Research boundary
The official launch announcement is the completeness baseline for R146. Later cabinet refinements, future town-template work, and post-launch patches are excluded unless the announcement explicitly identifies them as live on January 29.
