Release 145

From Shroud of the Avatar Wiki - SotA

RELEASE 145, December 22, 2025

Release 145 went live on December 22, 2025, at 9:30 p.m. CST. This compact winter release added wicker and ceramic tray recipes, brought seasonal snow and the forthcoming return of the Envy Angel, repaired pathing and dialogue across several scenes, and added Moonveil and New Crafters Town to Novia's player-owned town network.[1]

The official launch notes contain 17 entries across crafting, world, quest, and player-owned town work. That figure counts published entries rather than bugs fixed and is separate from the announcement's end-of-year infrastructure and future-development update.[1]

At a glance

Area What changed
Crafting and decoration South Paladis merchants gained wicker and ceramic tray recipes, while homes, jewelry displays, statues, and shrines received practical cleanup.
Seasonal world Snow returned across seasonal scenes, and the Envy Angel was scheduled to return on January 16.
Pathing and quests The Breach and South Drachvald Spur received navigation work, with smaller dialogue, scenery, and loot checks elsewhere.
Player-owned towns Moonveil and New Crafters Town joined Novia; Cottage Grove changed ownership and lost redundant teleporters.
Infrastructure Two physical servers were replaced and consolidated, including migration of the QA environment.

Two new trays for busy kitchens

The new Wicker Tray and Ceramic Tray displayed on a kitchen counter.

Decoration merchants in South Paladis began selling recipes for Wicker Trays and Ceramic Trays.[1] The additions supplied practical tabletop containers in two materials without tying them to a seasonal reward or store promotion.

Several older decorations received quieter improvements. Shingle-roof row homes had their roof collision repaired, and existing jewelry boxes plus the fine cherry display case gained distance culling. The Flaming Foyer-Sized Dragon Statue became stackable in inventory, while craftable shrines of magic received improved lighting and detail distance.[1]

Snow and seasonal visitors

Snow returned to New Britannia's seasonal scenes with R145. The Envy Angel and her devotees were scheduled to return to their cottage on January 16.[1] The dated transition is part of the winter event cycle rather than a permanent change to every scene.

The wintry presentation extended into the release rewards and store catalog, but the gameplay notes themselves remained restrained. R145 was less a blizzard of mechanics than a well-timed dusting over a maintenance release.

Pathing, dialogue, and loot checks

The Breach had a troublesome hill smoothed so the Clockwork Dragon could move more reliably, followed by regeneration of the scene's path grid with improved settings. South Drachvald Spur also received a regenerated path grid to help summoned pets appear and travel through the scene.[1]

In the Ruins of Ravensmoor, a skeleton stopped protruding through its sarcophagus wall and the apprentice's job response lost a typo. Ardoris received a small adjustment to one of Min Liang Tan's writ responses, while Ulfheim corrected the Virtue-change hints for the negative Courage monolith.[1]

Vikland's logic for finding Vikland crystals in loot was adjusted.[1] These changes did not create a new quest line, but they reduced the number of moments when navigation, dialogue, scenery, or inventory checks contradicted the intended encounter.

Two new towns in Novia

The R145 map of Novia's player-owned towns, including Moonveil and New Crafters Town.

Moonveil was added west of Ardoris, while New Crafters Town appeared south of Brittany.[1] Both became new destinations on Novia's player-owned town map.

Cottage Grove transferred to a new owner and had obsolete duplicate teleporters removed.[1] The entry documents an administrative and travel cleanup rather than an upgrade in settlement size.

Infrastructure and work still ahead

The end-of-year update reported that two physical servers had been replaced and consolidated. The QA server was among the migrated systems, with improved responsiveness expected and logs to be monitored for measured results.[1] Other back-end services also moved, while database and live-game migrations remained future work.

The announcement explicitly stated that Doll Cabinets were not complete. A functional issue still had to be resolved before public QA testing, and delivering the associated dolls too early could have limited necessary technical changes. Fire Elemental dungeon spawns, the Lava Lake room, the Well, and an eventual Unity engine update were likewise described as later work.[1] None of those plans are counted as R145 launch features.

Rewards and release events

The Snowy Foyer Dragon Statue, one of R145's subscriber login rewards.

Subscribers logging in during R145 received a Snowy Foyer Dragon Statue, a Wintery Floral Mother of Pearl Inlaid Jewelry Box, and a Replenishing Aqua Sparkler Fireworks Box. The general January login reward was a Small White Yule Cactus.[1]

The second December post-release livestream was scheduled for December 26. The launch announcement also listed winter decorations, fireworks, jewelry boxes, and other seasonal Crown Store additions.[1] These dates and rewards are preserved as release history rather than current availability.

What returning players should know

  • Wicker and ceramic tray recipes are sold by South Paladis decoration merchants.
  • Snow is seasonal; scenes designed to remain snowy follow their own rules.
  • Moonveil lies west of Ardoris, and New Crafters Town lies south of Brittany.
  • The Breach and South Drachvald Spur received navigation-grid repairs.
  • Doll Cabinets and the other projects named in the end-of-year update were still future work at launch.
  • The QA-server migration was infrastructure work, not a guarantee of a particular performance increase for every session.

R145 by the numbers

Number Meaning

5 Crafting, decoration, gear, and inventory entries
9 World and quest entries
3 Player-owned town entries

Research boundary

The official launch announcement is the completeness baseline for R145. Planned server migrations, Doll Cabinet work, dungeon additions, and the engine transition are kept separate from the launch build.
