Toolbox is a player-created Lua add-on that brings combat information, crafting plans, activity tracking, location tools, and notifications together in configurable windows and heads-up displays. Its central Toolbelt can combine buffs, debuffs, health, focus, Vigor, consumables, equipment condition, and target information into one movable strip.[1]

Versions 1.8.0, 1.9.0, and 1.10.0 are approved in the Community Addons catalog. Notes identifying the version that introduced a feature remain useful history, but those features no longer require manual installation.[2]

Toolbox is installed through the in-game Community Addons window. It is unrelated to items sold through the Add-On Store.

Version availability

Installation route Version Status
In-game Community Addons catalog 1.10.0 Approved version verified November 1, 2026.[1]
Upstream release 1.10.0 Current release represented by the approved catalog package.

An Introduced in note records the first Toolbox version containing a feature.

Documentation

The overview below is enough to install Toolbox and find its main features. Detailed help is divided into focused pages so add-on authors can update one area without turning this page into a very large manual:

Page Covers
Toolbelt and HUDs Buffs, vitals, targets, consumables, equipment condition, and positioning
Tracking Experience, daily totals, loot, crafting, gathering, farming runs, and market estimates
Combat statistics Combat HUD measurements, detailed breakdowns, session scope, and avoidance alerts
Notifications Notice sources, window/HUD/chat delivery, sounds, and history
Menu and location One-click Toolbox launcher, coordinates, facing, nearby fishing water, and farming-run map markers
Commands Organized chat-command reference through Toolbox 1.10.0, with version-specific additions labelled
Configuration and backups Settings search, layouts, setup transfer, saved files, resets, sounds, and permissions
Crafting planner Recipe selection, material choices, shopping lists, build order, and the planner HUD
Troubleshooting Loading, missing HUDs, alerts, network values, safe resets, and issue reports

Getting started

  1. Open Community Addons with /addons and install Toolbox: Toolbelt, HUDs, Trackers and more.
  2. Enable Run for Toolbox. New add-ons start disabled after installation.[3]
  3. Enter /toolbox or /tbx, or press Ctrl+;, to open Toolbox settings.
  4. Enable the windows and HUD elements you want. The Docs button opens the complete guide shipped with the add-on.

The key binding can be changed from Toolbox's row under Keys in the add-on manager.

Major features

Feature What it provides
Toolbelt A single movable strip for status effects, vital bars, consumables, equipment condition, and target information. It may be limited to combat.
Party Toolbelt A separate API-55 party strip with member health, focus, effects, scene or reach status, sorting, and optional low-health or debuff alerts. Introduced in Toolbox 1.10.0.
Buff and consumable displays Clock-style duration sweeps, expiration warnings, optional sounds, effect grouping, and optional replacement of the stock buff bar.
Target HUD The selected target's visible health, focus, and timed effects. It cannot reveal statistics hidden by the game.
XP tracking Session and recent adventurer or producer experience, experience per hour, time-to-level estimates, deaths, skill-level changes, and an hourly chart.
Today and Loot Tracker Daily and per-run gold, kills, experience, looted items, crafted items, gathered resources, and recent farming-run history.
Combat statistics Damage per second, damage taken, healing, critical and avoidance rates, skill and target breakdowns, and recent fight timelines.
Notifications Configurable window, HUD, chat, and sound notices for mail, rewards, guild information, equipment condition, and friends or guild members coming online.
Skill activity A strip showing skills that gain or lose progress, their training modes, optional level-change sounds, and a reversible pause control.
Crafting planner Plans a requested number of crafts from known recipes, resolves material choices, totals missing ingredients, orders prerequisite crafts, and provides a compact progress HUD. Version 1.10.0 adds optional SotANET material and sale estimates.
Menu and location A configurable launcher for Toolbox windows, plus an optional strip for scene, coordinates, facing, and the kinds of fishable water available in the scene.
World events Calendar-based alerts for Calls to Arms and official or featured events on supported clients.
Map overlays and automatic mapping Named, per-scene map overlays, resource-node and combat-location mapping, and compass navigation. Introduced in Toolbox 1.8.0; automatic fight mapping was added in 1.9.0.
Last-death marker A temporary magenta diamond on the map and minimap, with an optional compass marker. Introduced in Toolbox 1.8.0.

Settings and backups

Settings are saved per character. The settings window can export a named setup or import a setup shared by another character on the same computer. Importing makes a copy, so later changes remain independent.

On clients with Lua API 39 or later, Toolbox 1.9.0 uses the game's dated saved-file backups before resets, setup imports, and the first start of a new version. Back up now creates one on demand, and Restore can reinstate a selected copy. Manual file backups remain useful before moving computers or making major changes.[2]

Optional market values and network access

Estimated Loot Tracker values are off by default. Enabling Estimated values (SotANET) makes Toolbox request 90-day average sale prices from shroudoftheavatar.net. The player must also grant Toolbox's separate Internet permission in the add-on manager. Toolbox sends item names, caches returned prices for 24 hours, and declares no other network host; as with any web request, the remote site can see the player's IP address.[1]

The crafting planner can also show material costs, estimated sale value, and estimated profit. All other documented Toolbox features work without this optional price lookup.

Troubleshooting and support

  • Start with /toolbox help; the bundled guide tracks the installed version.
  • Use /lua check toolbox when the package does not load, and /lua reload after changing local files.[3]
  • If a window is misplaced or a configuration has become troublesome, open /toolbox settings to restore defaults or import a known setup.
  • Report problems through the Toolbox support repository. Include the Toolbox version and the game build number.
