Add-ons/Toolbox/Tracking

From Shroud of the Avatar Wiki - SotA

Toolbox tracks experience, daily activity, loot, crafting, gathering, and farming runs. Its compact windows provide an at-a-glance summary, while detailed windows retain breakdowns and recent history.[1]

Experience tracking

/toolbox xp toggles the compact XP display. It shows session time, adventurer and producer pools, and experience earned during the last hour. Hovering it opens XP Detailed; /toolbox xpdetailed opens that window directly.

The detailed view records:

  • skill levels gained and deaths during the session;
  • adventurer and producer experience gained;
  • session and recent ten-minute experience rates;
  • current level, progress, experience needed, and estimated time to the next level;
  • the previous hour in two-minute columns, scaled against the best interval.

A Toolbox session begins at login or when Reset is pressed. It survives /lua reload. The estimate to the next level depends on the observed earning rate and is not a promise about future play.

The XP display has three forms:

Form Behavior Command
Window Ordinary framed and resizable window /toolbox xp window
Compact window Title bar appears on hover; retains window resizing and opacity controls /toolbox xp compact
HUD strip Frameless strip moved by its grip; uses one of the game's add-on HUD strips /toolbox xp hud

Today window

/toolbox daily shows gold collected, kills credited to the player or pet, adventurer and producer experience, skill levels gained, and deaths since midnight. A skill level counts only when its trained level passes the highest level observed, so unlearning and relearning does not inflate the total.[1]

The Today display also supports window, compact, and HUD forms. Hovering it opens the Loot Tracker.

In version 1.9.0, the XP and Today HUD strips each have a Background shade slider in their settings. Every Toolbox HUD strip starts at 60 percent shading; zero removes its panel while leaving the text solid.[1]

Loot Tracker and runs

The Loot Tracker lists items that arrived in the character's bags. Its views separate ordinary loot from crafted and gathered results:

  • Looted excludes crafted and gathered items unless the inclusion option is enabled.
  • Crafted shows products taken from crafting stations, crafts and failures by recipe, exceptional results, crafting experience, and known ingredients consumed. Returned materials, salvage results, tools, and optional ingredients are handled separately or omitted as appropriate.
  • Gathered shows harvested items, nodes, failed harvests, and gathering experience.

Pressing Reset starts a run from the current time without erasing the all-day record. During a run, Toolbox calculates gold, kills, and optional loot value per logged-in hour after the first minute. Ending the run, returning to the full-day view, or reaching midnight stores it in the recent-run history. Up to ten recent runs are shown with scene, duration, gold, value rates, and a comparison chart.[1]

Version 1.7.0 also remembers where most of a run took place. Hovering the saved run shows the spot; while in that scene, its Compass button places the game's ordinary compass and map beacon there, replacing any beacon the player previously set. The button was named Beacon before version 1.8.0. On clients with Lua API 30, runs in the current scene also appear as gold map and minimap flags. These flags can be disabled under Map & location. Runs saved before 1.7.0 have no location data.

Toolbox 1.8.0 permits those gold run flags to appear alongside the selected user overlay. This behavior is included in the current catalog package.[2]

Useful commands include /toolbox loot reset, /toolbox loot today, /toolbox crafted, and /toolbox gathered.

Estimated market values

Estimated prices are optional and disabled by default. Enable Estimated values (SotANET) or enter /toolbox dd values on, then grant Toolbox the separate Internet permission in the add-on manager.

Toolbox sends item names to shroudoftheavatar.net and retrieves ninety-day average sale prices based on player-uploaded receipts. It caches each result for twenty-four hours. Missing recent data appears as --; an active lookup appears as .... The totals are estimates, not guaranteed sale prices.[1]

SotANET identifies items by their English names. When the game is running in another language, many translated item names may therefore return --; version 1.7.0 reports this limitation in the Loot Tracker, its tooltips, settings, and connection test.

Use /toolbox dd values refresh to discard cached values and request them again. /toolbox dd values test [item] tests access, while the optional price-each display shows the count and per-item estimate. All other Toolbox tracking features work without network access.

Midnight and reset behavior

The Today view follows the calendar day. A manually started run ends at midnight, while XP sessions follow login or manual reset instead. Use Show all of today or /toolbox loot today to leave run mode without losing the day's totals. Toolbox settings and statistics use different reset controls; resetting configuration is not the same as clearing a tracking session.
