Using FXStop
Tray and window
The movable FXS tray has three controls:
- Select FXS to collapse or expand the tray.
- Select the small gold icon to switch every listed block on or off at once.
- Select the large icon to open or close the FX Stop window.
Each effect toggle means that FXStop should block that visual. The window and tray remember their positions, and the tray remembers whether it was collapsed. If the grip cannot be dragged, clear the game's status-bar movement lock.
Supported effects
Version 0.14.6 recognizes Lightning Storm, Ring of Fire, Meteor Storm, Ice Field, Cone of Cold, Solar Flare, Earthquake, Soothing Rain, Unicorn Rainbow, Nightmare Flame, and Fireball. Lightning Storm and Fireball map several engine effect pieces to one user-facing switch.[1]
Because the mapping is version-specific, a redesigned or renamed game effect may escape its block until FXStop is updated. Blocking Lightning Storm may also suppress a shared Air charge-up visual if another spell uses the same engine effect.

Troubleshooting
- Enable both FXStop and SES in
/addons. - Test one supported effect and confirm its block is On.
- Use
/fxstop listto distinguish a saved-setting problem from a hidden window. - Use debug level 1 briefly to see reported effect names; return to 0 afterward to reduce console noise.
- Use
/lua checkand/lua reloadafter correcting hand-installed files.
The game briefly throttles reopening a window immediately after it closes. If the tray reports that the main window did not open, wait a few seconds and try again. FXStop requests no Internet permission and saves only its local toggles, debug level, and tray state.[1]
