RELEASE 138, May 30, 2025
Release 138 went live on May 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. CDT. Its centerpiece was a ground-up cleanup of the two-, three-, and four-story Wood and Plaster row houses: hidden geometry and disconnected vertices were removed, prefabs and levels of detail were rebuilt, textures were optimized, and reported visual problems and stuck spots were addressed. The release also added small but useful crafting, interface, town, and dungeon changes.[1]
The official launch notes contain 18 entries across crafting, interface, world, quest, town, dungeon, and basement work. That number describes published entries rather than individual fixes; the row-house entry alone summarizes a much larger body of asset cleanup.[1]
At a glance

Three row houses, one cleaner foundation

R138 completed the first major cleanup pass for the two-, three-, and four-story Wood and Plaster row houses. These are not obscure specialty buildings: the set supplies the default house for a row lot and serves as the basis for several related models.[1]
During the review, the developers reported finding hundreds of polygons and faces hidden inside walls, consuming draw time and graphics memory without contributing to the visible building. They also found thousands of disconnected vertices that the engine still had to evaluate during play. Those figures describe the team's inspection of these assets, not a measured frame-rate promise for every computer.[1]
The work went beyond deleting stray geometry. Prefabs were reorganized, the level-of-detail setup was rebuilt, textures were optimized and sharpened, and known visual defects and stuck spots were addressed. The result became a cleaner baseline for continued repairs and possible new row-house variants.[1]

R138 did not mark the end of the wider housing-renewal project. The announcement described it as a longer effort, and additional row-house, lighting, texture, and LOD work continued in Release 139 and Release 140.
Camping gear and decoration fixes

Housing-decoration merchants in the Perennial Coast gained a recipe for a canvas cot. Coils of rope became placeable decorations, letting a familiar crafting material serve double duty around workshops, docks, and camps.[1]
The regular-sized cast-iron fireplace stopped leaking light through its back and sides. Pinecones also received an appearance improvement after lacking a proper normal map—an appropriately tiny object for a very literal graphical detail.[1]
Bug Brigade access and clearer store information
The new /brigade slash command opened the forum post explaining how to join the Bug Brigade. Ardoris reinforced that invitation in the world itself with a Bug Brigade Recruiting Center on the dock opposite the east road.[1]
The Xenossian Decorative Cistern received a correctly sized inventory icon. The Yellow Tulip Cluster store set was corrected so it delivered a few large clusters and many small ones, rather than reversing those quantities.[1]
Fish, rumors, and a unique vault key
Aether Tetras emerged while Neon Tetras went into hiding. The announcement presents this as a replacement in the available fish population rather than an additional variety alongside the Neon Tetra.[1]
Aerie corrected grammar in Shandala Truesong's response about rumors. Braemar restored the missing tooltip on the Massively grave marker, while the Breach lowered floating pavers and reshaped terrain that exposed the underside of a dock platform.[1]
Castle Atos restored binding through its town crier. In Yew, the bank vault gained a unique key, and a duplicate Jaanrae NPC was renamed Lyris.[1]
A town and two dungeon corrections
Lightbringer Retreat was added as a new player-owned village north of Ardoris on the Novia map.[1]
The Lava Fishing Grotto player-dungeon room had a duplicate identifier eliminated. Placement collision was adjusted for the Ancient Stone Breakaway Wall T-intersection hallway piece, making it easier to fit correctly into a dungeon layout.[1]
Rewards and release events
Subscribers logging in during R138 received a Gothic Wall Mirror, a Scalloped Beach Umbrella, and a Small Black Iron Garden Table and Two-Chair Set. Every account logging in during June received a Black Iron Garden Chair.[1]
The post-release community livestream was scheduled for June 5. The announcement also documented a May 30–June 9 sale period and a staggered set of garden furniture, umbrellas, mirrors, and summer items entering the Crown Store.[1] These dates and offers are retained as release history rather than current availability.
What returning players should know

- Coils of rope can be placed as decorations.

/brigadecommand opens Bug Brigade recruitment information. - Castle Atos's town crier can bind players again.

Research boundary
The official launch announcement is the completeness baseline for R138. The article describes build 1780 as released on May 30. A May 31 sales-setting patch and the June 11 post-release patch are later builds and are not folded into the launch changes.[2]
