RELEASE 134, January 30, 2025
Release 134 went live on January 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. CST. Its main playable addition was the first phase of a decorative-planter system, allowing apple and banana tree decorations to be combined with planting beds and pots and placed where active agriculture could not go. Birch Island also appeared on the Novia map, although the island and its eight-level dungeon remained inaccessible while development continued.[1]
The official launch notes contain 35 entries across crafting, combat, interface, world, quest, and player-owned-town work. That number counts published entries rather than every asset or item affected.[1]
At a glance
| Area | What changed |
|---|---|
| Decorative agriculture | Nine planting beds and six pots could hold decorative immature or mature apple and banana trees, with automatically known recipes and salvage recovery. |

| World preview | Birch Island appeared northeast of the Hulenholt, but remained inaccessible while its dungeon was developed. |
| World and quests | Seasonal snow ended, traps and scene boundaries were repaired, common Recall Scrolls replaced bound rewards, and numerous dialogue and pathing issues were corrected. |
| Player-owned towns | Kyoto and Moonshadow were added; Frogtown Market and Jade Gardens received size upgrades. |
Decorative plants finally fit the planter

Before R134, decorative plants harvested from agriculture could be placed on ordinary ground but not inside active planting beds or pots. Active planters could display mature crops, yet they were unsuitable for preserving an immature appearance and could not be placed on player-owned-town land.[1]
The new system combined a decorative plant, a planter, and a planting trowel at a carpentry station. R134 enabled all nine planting beds and six pots to accept immature and mature apple and banana trees. The recipes were automatically known, and crafting merchants that sold beds and pots also gained planting trowels.[1]
These combined objects were decorations rather than active agriculture. They did not need to calculate watering or growth state, could be placed on POT land, and could be salvaged at a carpentry station to recover the empty planter.[1]
The announcement described apple and banana trees as the first phase. Rose bushes and the remainder of the agricultural plant catalog were future work, so R134 did not yet make every crop compatible.
New harvestable decorations and old seasonal repairs

Royal Elderberry and Immortality Fruit gained decorative plant versions with a chance to drop when fully watered plants were harvested. Eternal seeds had their growth time, watering requirements, reagent output, and decorative-plant chances aligned with ordinary seeds.[1]
Roasted pigs became placeable decorations. Snowball boxes were corrected to deliver during December, January, and February, while the Baroque Fountain's placement and the Giant Titan of Truth Statue's collision were repaired.[1]
Valentine and Yule cards from 2016 through 2020 received improved textures, as did Valentine boxes from 2017 through 2019. Heart Top Hat patterns displayed the correct colors when crafted hats were placed as decorations.[1]
The Snowy White Owl and Baby Black Widow spider pet lost erroneous “Variant” labels. A group of earlier skin-color fixes for leather armor, Ringmaster clothing, bunny slippers, and a cloth tunic was applied to the live build, although the announcement cautiously described that deployment as something that “may” now have worked.[1]
Birch Island appears, but the bridge stays closed

Birch Island was added and expanded on the Novia overworld map near South Hulenholt and Rhun. The island was explicitly inaccessible in R134 while work continued.[1]
The announcement previewed an eight-level dungeon that would become more difficult with depth and tied it to the “Eighth Level of Hell” encounter shown during the anniversary event. Its treasure-hunt story was inspired by a cursed excavation and two missing brothers.[1]
This was map presence and narrative foreshadowing, not a new playable zone. Later release updates substantially expanded the Birch Island plan, but those developments do not belong to the January 30 launch state.
Combat and interface fixes
The blue glow that lingered after casting Summon Air Elemental was disabled. The notes called this a temporary bandage rather than a complete correction and warned that the effect still lasted about a second too long.[1]
The /time command was repaired for Linux and Mac clients. Two non-Yule Metal Street Lamps with Signs were moved out of the Winter Holiday store category.[1]
A thaw and a long world-polish list
Seasonal snow ended. Ardoris art dealers and Erla in Tanglemire switched their occasional Recall Scroll rewards to the common, unbound version.[1]
Blood River Outskirts made its rolling boulder trap actually damage players. Tenebris Harbor closed a large hole leading outside the playable area, and the Well of Aldur adjusted a wyvern platform to prevent players from becoming trapped between its plates.[1]
Norgard Fens added ramps to help Kobolds reach a raised platform and gave them more combat and death dialogue. The Rise restored a torch flame and regenerated its path grid. Vertas Pass added blockers around a guard tower and shifted a tornado to cover the nearby approach.[1]
Other repairs covered pink terrain in Braemar, obsolete town-crier dialogue in Brittany Alleys, journal and farewell text in Port Harmony, duplicated keywords in Solace Bridge Outskirts, and a duplicated Ulfheim spawn target.[1]
Four player-owned-town changes
Kyoto was added as an island northeast of Castle Atos, and Moonshadow appeared south of Brittany. Frogtown Market was upgraded to Town, while Jade Gardens advanced to City.[1]
Rewards and release events
Subscribers logging in during R134 received three assorted Medium Valentine's 2025 Gift Boxes and a Fancy Vase of Pink Roses. The February login reward was changed from three Victorian Valentine's Cards to a Square Heart-Themed Box of Chocolates (Style 2).[1]
The post-release community livestream was scheduled for January 31, and the launch sale ran through February 7.[1] These dates and offers are retained as release history rather than current availability.

The official launch announcement is the completeness baseline for R134. Birch Island is treated as inaccessible future content beyond its overworld-map appearance. Patches released January 31, February 2, and February 8 are not folded into the launch article.[2]
