This item is craftable using the Blacksmithing recipe of Recipe: Shortsword at Blacksmithing Station.

Iron Shortsword is the Iron-blade variation of a crafted Shortsword. The material-based crafting system gives equipment a prefix based on its primary material, so using an Iron Shortsword Blade produces the Iron Shortsword name.

Crafting

The current Shortsword recipe recorded on SotAwiki uses one Shortsword Blade, one Metal Hilt, and three Chunks of Coal. An Iron Shortsword Blade creates this variation and records a +2 Weapon Damage material bonus. The hilt adds further bonuses, so the finished values should be checked in-game.

The older Community pages preserve hilt variations and older finished statistics. Their Iron-and-Iron example records the same broad component structure and three-coal quantity as the current base recipe, but its tooltip values should not be assumed current.
