Combat Glyph
More actions
A Combat Glyph is the historical wiki name for an active adventuring skill represented by an icon that can be placed in a Deck and used from the Combat Bar. Release 154 renamed combat cards from glyphs to runes throughout the current interface.[1] Combat runes include attacks, spells, defensive techniques, and other activated abilities.
Combat runes are the active combat form of the concept described at Glyph. They differ from innate skills, whose effects do not need to be placed on a bar.
In a deck
A learned combat rune may be added to a deck and then assigned to the Combat Bar in one of two ways:
- Locked: the rune remains in a chosen slot and returns there after its cooldown.
- Unlocked: copies of the rune are dealt into available slots from the deck.
Unlocked runes can be stacked with matching runes or combined with compatible runes to create combos. The current exact copy limits should be checked in the client rather than inferred from older glyph documentation.
Skill groups
Combat runes appear throughout the adventuring skill trees, including weapon, armor, magic, and strategy schools. Category pages such as Blades Combat Skills and Ranged Combat Skills group these skills by school.
