Update of the Avatar #42 – 2013.10.04: Lord and Edelmann Homes, Avatar Outfits, and Scene Jam #2
Update 42 continued the “Parade of Homes” with the Founder Lord Town Home and Benefactor Edelmann Village Home, previewed leather and plate outfits for the female avatar, and announced the opening of the second 48-hour Unity Scene Jam.[1]
Founder Lord Town Home
Artists Bob Cooksey and Michael Hutchison designed the Founder Lord home as a spacious two-story town-lot residence with stone and wood interior trim and an open-air roof deck. The update compared its footprint with the Tower Town Home and Viking Village Home. A differently configured Benefactor version was planned for a later issue.[1]
Benefactor Edelmann Village Home
The Benefactor Edelmann design was a single-story village house available through the Edelmann pledge tier to Benefactors and Founders. It used roughly the same floor area as the Founder Edelmann Village Home while providing a different exterior and layout.[1]
Avatar outfits and Scene Jam
The issue showed work by Isaac Oster and Geoff Mellon on female leather and plate armor. It described these as samples from a larger group of male and female outfits still being prepared for public display.[1]
Unity Scene Jam #2 began at 6:00 p.m. CST on October 4. The update pointed entrants to the forthcoming challenge instructions and reminded readers that the first contest had received 48 submissions.[1]
The issue also recorded the final weekend of a historical Viking Village Home promotion and compared that house with the Shingle-Roof and Founder Edelmann homes.[1]
