Update of the Avatar #40 – 2013.09.20: Decorating, Edelmann and Tower Homes, and Scene Jam
Update 40 demonstrated the early home-decorating system, showed a revised Founder Edelmann Village Home and two tower houses, described Portalarium's asset-sharing practice, and announced the start of the first 48-hour Unity Scene Jam.[1]
A narrated demonstration showed the developing house-decoration controls and presented housing as a place for personal expression, crafting, storage, and displaying adventure rewards. The issue also described Portalarium's policy of returning modified Unity Asset Store models to their original creators so those creators could reuse or resell the improvements.[1]
The example was a purchased creature model transformed into a kobold and animated with a hammer attack.[1]

Parade of Homes
The Founder Edelmann home incorporated the result of the community design poll covered in Update 38. It was a single-story village-lot house comparable in scale to the Founder Citizen home, with a distinct exterior and interior treatment.[1]

The issue also introduced the Tower Village Home and Tower Town Home. Both used a vertical tower design; the larger town version added a lower floor beneath its entry level. The post compared their footprints with other early homes and advertised them through a temporary store promotion.[1]

Scene Jam and other news
The first Unity Scene Jam began on September 20 with an announced prize pool above $10,000. The update also reported that Tracy and Laura Hickman's Sojourner Tales crowdfunding campaign had reached its initial $26,000 goal and repeated the remaining Village Deed and Viking home promotions.[1]
