Rend
The damage-over-time inflicted by this skill is considered to be a Bleed Effect. For methods to cancel a bleed effect, see Bleed Effect.
Effect[edit]
Template:Skill effect list (Raising the Rend skill level will increase all of the following: initial damage, damage over time, duration of damage over time, and duration of Healing Modifier. The size of the Healing Modifier is not impacted by skill level, but it is made more powerful by raising Blade Specialization [see Healing Modifier below])
- Rend can hit up to 2 targets if they are within range.
- This skill has no effect on most Undead Creatures (i.e. it does zero damage and the healing modifier is ineffective). Some Lichs are susceptible to rend.
- The damage over time & healing modifier stacks up to 3 times on the target.
Healing Modifier[edit]
This is a debuff that is placed on your opponent when you land a rend attack. The Healing Modifier debuff reduces an opponent's ability to regenerate health and decreases the amount of healing that their Life Magic skills will bestow . If an opponent cannot regenerate health as fast and cannot heal as much, they can be killed more quickly. Rend's bleed effect (damage over time) and its healing modifier (health regen debuff, heal debuff) have the same duration (their amount & duration can be seen by hovering your mouse over the "rend" icon that appears under the opponent's health bar). The healing modifier debuff shows as a negative number (which means it is reducing the opponent's health regeneration and heal effectiveness). Raising the Blade Specialization skill makes the Healing Modifier more negative (in other words, the higher your Blade Specialization, the greater the debuff on health regeneration). The rend skill level does not alter the amount of Healing Modifier; however, rend skill level does lengthen the duration of the Healing Modifier.
For other healing modifiers, see Healing Modifier.
