A lot deed allows its holder to claim a compatible Lot. Compatibility depends on the deed's size, town restriction, tax status, and land or water type.
Deed characteristics
- Size: a deed historically could claim its own tier or a smaller lot.
- Town restriction: Player-Owned Town deeds and unrestricted deeds are separate upgrade categories.[1]
- Tax status: taxed and tax-free deed types exist. Release 62 records historical tax reductions and Crown-based upgrading.[2]
- Land or water: water-deed availability has expanded over time; Release 123 added several tax-free Player-Owned Town water upgrades.[3]
Claiming and management
An available Property Marker is used to claim a lot with an eligible deed. Claimed properties and stored layouts are managed through the lot and Property Manager interfaces. Consult the current client before relying on older step-by-step instructions or timer values.
