Update of the Avatar #37 – 2013.09.04: Home Sweet Home
Update 37 was the “Village Home Edition” of Update of the Avatar. It presented four work-in-progress houses, compared their layouts, and reported the results of the Hearth of Britannia community telethon.[1]
Village homes
The Shingle-Roof Village Home was presented as a single-room, single-story house intended to be available to players generally. The issue then showed separate single-story Citizen-tier homes for Benefactors and Founders. The Benefactor design used several alcoves, while the Founder Citizen Village Home combined a partially divided floor plan with multiple roof structures.[1]
The fourth design, the Viking Village Home, was a colorful two-story building with one large room downstairs and a wraparound loft. It was sold separately during a September promotion and required an appropriate property lot for placement. The official post included exterior, interior, side-by-side, and floor-plan views to help backers compare the four designs.[1]
Portalarium stressed that all four homes were works in progress and invited feedback through the official forums.[1]
Hearth of Britannia telethon
The update thanked Rustic Dragon, participating developers, and community members for a 24-hour Telethon of the Avatar. Portalarium reported that the event generated an additional $12,999 in pledges and linked recordings of its six segments.[1]
As in several early updates, the issue ended by reminding Kickstarter backers to register on the official site and link their accounts for reward delivery.[1]
