Scales of Justice

From Shroud of the Avatar Wiki - SotA

This article needs verification. (Specific reason: The exact current in-game depiction, capitalization, appearances on devotionals, banners and constellations, and whether this symbol exists as a separately obtainable item need in-game verification.)

Scales of Justice

Scales of Justice is the traditional symbol of the virtue of Justice in New Britannia. Its green imagery appears in the virtue system associated with Jaanaford, its devotional, and its constellation. Official Release 40 notes identify the symbol while introducing devotional shrines across Novia.[1]

Meaning in New Britannia

Justice combines the principles of Truth and Love. The symbol provides a visual shorthand for that place in the system of the Virtues, Principles, and Ethos.

The Release 40 notes used the singular name “Scale of Justice,” while later caretaker dialogue and SotAwiki pages use “Scales of Justice.”

The image shown here is the existing SotAwiki devotional image. It illustrates the associated shrine artwork and should not be taken as proof that a separate inventory item with this exact name exists.

Verification needed

  • Inspect the current Devotional of Justice and Constellation of Justice depictions.
  • Confirm the exact current capitalization and visual form of the symbol.
  • Confirm which historical name is currently displayed in dialogue and interface text.
  • Record every current banner, decoration, quest object, or other item that uses the symbol.
  • Determine whether “Scales of Justice” is only a symbolic name or also the name of a separately obtainable item.
