WikiMinder campaigns are community drives that focus verification work on a particular part of the wiki. A campaign might ask players to check recipes, NPCs, creatures, quests, skills, or items. See also: Help:WikiMinder.

Taking part

Running campaigns appear on Special:WikiMinder and Special:Campaigns. Choose a drive, open one of its tasks, and check the requested information in the game as usual.

Campaign progress counts useful checks, not clicks. A check can count when it helps establish or change a verification status, confirms another useful check, or leads to an accepted correction. Not sure, duplicate answers, checks of your own edits, and answers removed by a moderator do not count. Checks made after the daily Renown limit can still help a campaign.

Each campaign page shows its topic, community goal, personal milestone, ending condition, progress, and standings. The figures displayed elsewhere on the wiki can take up to ten minutes to refresh.

Goals and milestones

The community goal is the total number of useful checks the drive is trying to collect. If a queued campaign uses the goal or time limit ending, reaching that goal closes it early and makes room for the next drive.

The personal milestone is the number of useful campaign checks one contributor needs for the campaign's milestone recognition. Campaign recognition is just for fun and never makes anyone's answers count more.

How the campaign queue works

Some upcoming campaigns are set to start from the queue. WikiMinder can run up to three queued campaigns at once. When a queued campaign reaches its goal, reaches its time limit, or is cancelled, the next eligible campaign starts automatically.

Queued campaigns with overlapping topics do not run together, so one check cannot advance two queued drives. WikiMinder may temporarily pass over a blocked campaign and start the next non-overlapping one. A campaign covering every topic runs by itself.

Campaigns started manually, on a date, with a game release, or by the automatic release-drive feature do not use the three queue slots. They can therefore run alongside three queue-managed campaigns.

An upcoming campaign marked for manual start is not yet in the automatic queue. A campaign manager must change its start setting to From the queue before WikiMinder can start it automatically.

When campaigns end

A campaign can end:

  • when it reaches its community goal, or after a set number of days, whichever happens first;
  • after a set number of days;
  • on a particular date;
  • when the next game release is recorded; or
  • when a campaign manager closes or cancels it.

Completed campaigns keep frozen final standings on Special:Campaigns. Cancelling a campaign does not award completion recognition.

Managing campaigns

Only users with campaign-management permission can plan or run a campaign. Campaign managers can:

  • add a campaign to the upcoming list;
  • edit an upcoming campaign and choose how it starts;
  • start, close, or cancel a campaign;
  • edit a running campaign's name, description, goal, personal milestone, and ending; and
  • correct the name or description of a finished campaign.

The topics and starting method cannot be changed after a campaign begins. Changes to a running campaign's goal, milestone, or ending are recorded on its campaign page. Lowering a running goal to its existing progress completes it immediately, and lowering a milestone can award it immediately to contributors who already qualify.

Every management action is recorded. Campaign managers should keep descriptions consistent with the configured goal and ending, and should remember that manually started campaigns do not occupy automatic queue slots.

Feature versions

The three-slot automatic queue and the goal or time limit ending were added in WikiMinder 0.13.9. Editing running campaigns was added in WikiMinder 0.13.10.
