Elene Sali SotA Companion Application

The Elene Sali SotA Companion (also known as SotA Companion) is a multi-language Android, Google TV / Android TV, and Google Play Games on PC companion application for Shroud of the Avatar. Originally released in 2018, the application was rebuilt from the ground up for modern Android devices (supporting Android 7.0 Nougat / API 24 through Android 16 / target SDK 36) in October–November 2026 using React 19, Vite, Capacitor, and WebGPU/WebGL-accelerated PixiJS v8.

2026 Relaunch & Features (v0.2.6, Build 156)

In October 2026, Elene Sali SotA Companion was relaunched for Android under the application ID net.elenesali.sotacompanion (reaching Version 0.2.6, Build 156 on November 4, 2026). The architecture integrates native Android Ahead-of-Time (AOT) baseline profiles and route-based code-splitting (reducing the initial JavaScript entry payload by 88% to 63 kB) for accelerated cold starts, custom pitch-black splash screens, full 360-degree mobile portrait/landscape rotation, native Google Play Games on PC (GPPC) widescreen support, and Google TV / Android TV Leanback launcher banner integration (for Chromecast with Google TV 4K). The application features a dark-fantasy interface localized across 11 languages with a hardware-accelerated, horizontally scrollable 19-portal PixiJS RPG hotbar:

11-Language Localization & Quick Language Controls: Fully localized with 100% dictionary key parity across English, Czech, German, Spanish, Finnish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, and Ukrainian. Astronomical Clocks, Lunar Phases & Custom RPG TimezonePicker: Displays real-time clocks with localized weekday and date subtitles for Earth Local Time, Austin / Texas Server Time (UTC-5 CDT/CST), and New Britannian Time (NBT) tracking the 12 Britannian months, 28-day lunar periods, and year 400+ P.C. Includes authentic 8-phase New Britannia moon phase tracking (New Moon through Waning Crescent) with custom dark-fantasy SVG iconography underneath the in-game clock, a custom-themed dark RPG TimezonePicker dropdown component (Local Time, Austin UTC-5, or UTC) synchronized across views with Android hardware back-button support, and a reactive 12-hour (AM/PM) / 24-hour time format toggle.
SotA Player Status Tracker: Tracks live player populations across Catnip Games game servers (Total Online Players), Steam Current Online (App 326160), and calculated Standalone Launcher client counts, updating asynchronously on launch and every 5 minutes with resilient multi-endpoint retry fallbacks.
WRFB – Radio Free Britannia & Official In-Game Radio Stations: Streams live broadcasts from WRFB – Radio Free Britannia (with automatic failover across three stream endpoints) alongside two toggleable official in-game stations: New Britannia Herald Radio (news broadcast) and The Royal Jukebox (bards and realm music). Supports unique per-station configurable stream authentication tokens (t) in Settings, automatic HTTP 503 stream health probing with instant fallback to WRFB, and continuous background audio playback with in-app Pause/Resume controls and Android OS Media Session lock-screen and notification shade controls (Play, Pause, Stop) displaying active station metadata and live player counts.
In-App Chronometer (Lunar Rifts & Cabalists): Features live countdown timers for recurring world events:

New Britannia Calendar (Day/Week/Month Scales & 18-Tag Filtering): Aggregates all four live Catnip Games iCal feeds (Everything/World, Call to Arms, Official Staff Events, and Community Events) with Monthly, vertical time-grid Weekly (featuring dynamic empty-hour trimming and 2-day mobile column scaling), and 24-hour Day views (complete with an interactive 7-day horizontal weekday selector strip and circular gold event count badges). Includes an interactive 18-tag event filter popup modal (PvP, Fishing, New players, Hunt, Boss, Dungeon, Crafting, Gathering, Trade, Social, Roleplay, Music, Housing, Contest, Guild, Lore, Exploration, Stream) with real-time OR filtering and active count badges, persistent layout memory (Split View with horizontal touch panning, Calendar Only, Agenda List), configurable Sunday/Monday week start days, localized category and date formatting across all 11 languages, raw URL stripping on PixiJS Event Feed cards, and direct webcal:// subscription links.
Customizable 19-Portal RPG Hotbar, Navigation Containment & In-Game Chat: Features a horizontally scrollable, touch-draggable RPG navigation bar with optional uppercase text labels beneath icons, partitioned into functional visual tiers: native internal views (including Main, Rifts, Calendar, Sauna, a local Wi-Fi PC proxy In-game chat portal with configurable IP/Port and Android 3-button safe-area insets, and Settings), external-URL internal webviews (marked with a light green bottom indicator line, including World Map, Resource Atlas, Leaderboards, Forums, and Combat Log), and controlled/external browser portals (marked with a bronze bottom indicator line, including Catnip Games News/Blog, Themes, Decks / Community Hub, Desk at play.catnipgames.net/me/desk, Catnip Games Guilds, SotAwiki with strict in-app sub-link containment, and Bug Tracker), plus the official SotA Discord invite on the Main View. - High Scores, Ranks & Global Monster Leaderboards: Evaluates Victory Base, Turn Efficiency under par, Companion Zen, Stove Mastery, Survival, Resource Conservation, and Difficulty/Real-Time multipliers to award 6 rank titles (from Novice Bather to Grandmaster of the Sacred Löyly), syncing with a global Google Sheets leaderboard that protects player privacy by aliasing other bathers with 24 randomized Shroud of the Avatar monster names.
Hardened In-App Updates & Closed Testing Feedback: Integrates background Google Play Flexible In-App Updates with stalled/in-progress download recovery, real-time download progress banners, persistent Main View header update action pills, and a dedicated Application Updates section in Settings with direct Google Play Store fallback, alongside a privacy-safe Closed Testing Feedback & Bug Report portal.

2018 Original Release

Originally launched in 2018, the first Android version of the Elene Sali SotA Companion provided mobile access to Shroud of the Avatar maps, community calendars, the in-game time and moon phases of New Britannia, Avatars Radio, and Radio Free Britannia.
