SotaLore Skills is a player-created Lua add-on that reads the current character's trained skill levels and prepares them for import into the skill planner at SotaLore. It can display a compact text code for manual copy and paste or write a detailed JSON file in the game's Lua folder.[1]

Getting started

  1. Install SotaLore Skills through /addons and enable Run. Newly installed add-ons begin disabled.[2]
  2. Enter /slskills, or assign the add-on's key binding, to open its window.
  3. On SotaLore, open the avatar's skills page and choose Import from game.
  4. Copy each page shown by the add-on into the same import box. The pages may be pasted in any order.

The add-on splits large exports because an add-on text box can hold no more than 1,024 characters. Each page carries the character name, skill identifiers and trained levels, sequence information, and a small check value so incomplete pasted data can be detected.[3]

File export

Enter /slskills file to write sotalore-skills.json in the game's Lua folder. The file contains the character name and the skill records exposed by the game, including identifiers, names, schools, levels, and experience values. This is a separate, more detailed export from the compact text copied through the window.[3]

Privacy and limitations

SotaLore Skills requests no Internet permission and does not send data to SotaLore itself. Transfer happens only when the player copies text into the website or deliberately uses the local JSON file. The exported data includes the character name and trained skills; the catalog states that no account login or other personal information is involved.[1]

Only skills returned by the game are exported. The compact code uses each skill's trained level, rather than temporary level adjustments from the current scene. If skills have not loaded yet, wait briefly and use Refresh.
