PawPad is a Lua add-on that places a pet-status and command-key panel on the HUD. It shows the pet's name, health, buffs, and stance while providing a visual reminder of the player's configured pet key bindings.[1]
Setup and use
Install and enable PawPad through /addons, then open it with the paw icon, /pawpad, or its assigned add-on key. The default show-or-hide key is numeric keypad 0. The panel is resizable and briefly flashes a command icon gold while displaying the most recently pressed order for two seconds.[2]
The game's Lua API does not let PawPad issue pet commands. Bind the ordinary pet controls under Options → Controls, then configure PawPad with the same keys. In its Keys window, select a command and press the desired key; Escape cancels and X clears it. Commands without keys are not displayed.[2]
The default mappings are numeric keypad 1 for Passive, 2 Defensive, 3 Aggressive, 4 Stop Following, 5 Follow, 6 Attack Target, 8 Teleport, 9 Stop Attacking, and P Dismiss. Default keys restores them. Pet info to chat reports the pet and buffs known to the game.[2]
Display
The panel shows pet name and health, stance gems, the last order, command icons grouped by function, and optional pet-buff icons with remaining time. Health changes from green to gold or red as the pet is injured. The stance gem follows the last stance key unless the game supplies a newer stance through pet information or a buff.
Normal window controls adjust text size, window scale, opacity, locking, and reset. In Icons only mode the frame and background disappear; unlock status movement in the game's Interface options to drag its grip. The Keys window also scales this borderless panel from 25 to 150 percent in five-percent steps. Settings are saved per character.[2]
