Bodhbh Dearg is a retired military man, veteran of unknown rank. He retired to the port town of Port Phoenix, capital of the Phoenix Republic, and now maintains one of the lighthouses and acts as the town's first Postmaster and the republic's first Postmaster General. He is also the Head Librarian, and enjoys crafting.

Aside from his life in Novia, he also remembers aspects of his 'previous' lives, can tell interesting stories about mythical feats and creatures, and sometimes mutters words in a language unfamiliar to the Novian natives, earning him a reputation as an eccentric...

His son, Goibniu Dearg, followed him to Port Phoenix and lives close by.
