Purpose This legacy template returns one of eight lunar phase names for a supplied real-world timestamp. Warning: Do not rely on this template for the current in-game lunar phase. Live fixed-time tests show that its implementation advances once per real hour and repeats every eight hours. That conflicts with the source comment, which says each phase should last about 525 seconds and the cycle about 70 minutes. The correct current synchronization still needs an authoritative source. Usage {{NewBritanniaPhase}} {{NewBritanniaPhase\|timestamp}} Parameters 1 Optional timestamp accepted by MediaWiki's date parser. It defaults to the current time. Implemented sequence At successive whole-hour offsets from `1 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000`, the current implementation returns Full, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, Waning Crescent, New, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, and Waxing Gibbous before repeating.
