Purpose This formatting template places list markup in responsive newspaper-style columns. It is useful for long generated or hand-written lists that would otherwise consume excessive vertical space. Usage {{Columns list| * First item * Second item * Third item }} An optional column width may be supplied: {{Columns list |width=20em |1= * First item * Second item }} Parameters Parameter Required Explanation 1 Yes List markup or generated list output placed inside the column container. width No CSS column width. The default is 25em; the container has a maximum width of 60em. Supply a valid CSS length such as 20em, not a bare number. Notes The template is designed for lists. Arbitrary tables, headings, or complex floated content may not divide predictably across columns. The number of visible columns depends on the available display width and the requested column width.
