The Heart of Compassion was once lost and thought to be have been destroyed during the reign of the Obsidians. But my great grandmother believed that a compassionate heart would be able to find it. And she did! And the women of my family have cared for it ever since. -Merci

Template:Infobox Item Devotional of Compassion (Shrine) is a Player Owned Town decoration item. The blessing effects from this item will increase depending on the number of claimed lots within the player owned town it is placed in.

This Devotional will increase the powers of those who use it, but it will also attract the attention of the Obsidian Cabalists! Based upon the alignment of the constellations and the celestial bodies, each Cabalist will lay siege to a town containing the particular Devotional in opposition to their anti-virtue.

NOTE: This item can only be placed by a Governor or Steward of a Player-Owned Town.

NOTE: Placing multiple Devotionals of the same type offers no additional benefit other than convenience for town residents and visitors.

NOTE: Placing this item in a Player Owned Town counts towards the towns current NPC Building limitation for the towns current size.

Trivia

  • The Compassion Devotional offers a Compassion Blessing, which increases Dodge and Tailoring skill. To receive a blessing you merely need to jump in a Devotional that has been placed. Players can only have two blessings active at any time so visiting a Devotional while two blessings are active will overwrite the oldest blessing. These Devotionals also attract the attention of the Cabalists and there is a chance that the town will come under siege if they are placed.[1]
  • Town Blessings: Owners of Player Towns now have the ability to place 11 different Devotionals to the 8 Virtues and 3 Principles in their towns. Each Devotional offers a different blessing and the power of the blessing is based on how many people live in the town. To receive a blessing you merely need to stand near a Devotional that has been placed in a POT or NPC town. Players can only have two blessings active at any time so visiting a Devotional while other blessings are active will overwrite the oldest blessing. These Devotionals also attract the attention of the Cabalists and there is a chance that your town will come under siege if you have them placed (starting in R40). These devotionals will also appear in NPC towns starting in R40. Please note that these Devotionals are new decorations and not the original items tentatively planned to be associated with Blessings (Hooded Statue, Titan Statues, Dragon Bones, etc.).[2]
