Tartarus is a Tier 8+ Dungeon Adventuring Area accessible from The Rise, Savrenoc Stronghold, or using a Teleporter to Tartarus.
Unique Characteristics and Loot in Tartarus
- Bandit Gear - these artifacts drop as loot only in Tartarus and in Tartarus Cursed Maze (PvP). They drop from the Satyrs.
- Pirate Tricorn Hat of the Cap'n - this artifact drops as loot only in Tartarus. It drops from Cap'n Markus Darkfeather (a boss skeleton).
- Wax Cylinder - Tartarus - this is the only zone where this drops as loot. Confirmed drops have come from the Satyrs.
- Wave battle - the wave battle is started by waiting in the area immediately surrounding the tower in the center of the maze.

Trivia
- This high level dungeon went into live testing in Release 66 with an unofficial release (no actual entrance) and then an entrance from The Rise dungeon was added in Release 67.
- New levels were added in Release 70.
- Release 71 added lots of new content including two wave battles, new bosses, and 5 new artifacts! Additionally a second entrance to the bottom level of the dungeon (that leads directly to the mines area) was added in the Savrenoc Stronghold scene.
