File:Devotionals-All.jpg Template:Infobox A Devotional is a shrine to one of the 8 Virtues and to 1 or more of the 3 Principles. There are 11 different devotionals. Each devotional will apply a unique Devotional Blessing buff when the avatar jumps into the devotional's pool (the buff lasts 5 days; only 2 Devotional Blessings can be active at the same time).

Each of the 11 Patron Cities contains a different one of the devotionals and espouses the Virtue and Priciples of that devotional. Player Owned Towns can contain more than one of these devotionals.

Also, each devotional is associated with a specific constellation.

When a town contains 1 or more devotionals, the town will periodically come under siege by the Obsidian Cabalists. For details on sieges, see Town Sieges.

Devotionals in Patron Cities

Each of the Patron Cities listed below has only one Devotional.

In a Patron City, the power of the blessing is constant (and equivalent to the highest power achievable in a Player Owned Town).

Devotionals in Player Owned Towns

For a Player Owned Town (POT), the power of the blessing depends on how many lots have been claimed by players in that town (more lots claimed gives a greater power to the buff, with a maximum power achieved at the highest tier). The tiers are as follows:

  • 9 or less claimed lots - low power tier
  • 10-19 claimed lots - moderate power tier
  • 20 or more claimed lots - high power tier (provides the same power as the buff from a Patron City devotional).

Obtaining a Devotional & Limits on Placing Them

Some devotionals are included in the purchase of a Player Owned Town (POT). Devotionals can also be purchased in the Crown Shop.

Note: To place devotionals, you must either own a player owned town or have permission to place decoration in a player owned town.

The number of devotionals that can be placed in your town is limited based on the size of the town.

POT size Limit (# of Devotionals)
Holdfast 2
Hamlet 4
Village 6
Crossroads Village 8
Town 10
City 12
Metropolis 20
Municipality 28
Megalopolis 35
Gigapolis 42
Teralopolis 55

Town Sieges

When a town contains 1 or more devotionals, the town will periodically come under siege by the Obsidian Cabalists. For details on sieges, see Town Sieges.

Trivia

  • The first iteration of Town Blessings was in Release 39. Owners of Player Towns will have the ability to place 11 different Devotionals to the 8 Virtues and 3 Principles in their towns. These devotionals also began appearing in NPC towns in Release 40.
  • Each Devotional offers a different blessing and the power of the blessing is based on how many people live in the town. To receive a blessing you merely need to stand near a Devotional that has been placed in a POT (or NPC town). Players can only have one blessing active at any time so visiting a Devotional while another blessing is active will overwrite the current blessing. These Devotionals also attract the attention of the Cabalists and there is a chance that your town will come under siege if you have them placed[1]
