Template:Infobox Location Template:Infobox Template:Tocright Mistrendur is an Archipelago that was added for Episode 2. All three islands within the Mistrendur Archipelago can be freely visited, and you can enter into any Player Owned Town or enter any Roving Encounter on any island. The Adventuring Areas or NPC Towns cannot be entered unless you are an Episode 2 Access holder.

The three islands of Mistrendur are Slangeholle, Slangemagge, and Slangehodde. However, physically Mistrendur's three islands have the shape of a serpent, so the islands are also known as the Tail, the Belly, and the Head.

Mistrendur can be accessed from a Cross-Continent Galleon on the World Map at various locations and will take you to the Slangemagge Island, in the region of Cantabrigia.

Announced Scenes

  • On Slangehodde:
    • A Salt Mines Scene
Brave adventurers can find salt mines sprinkled alongside the frozen depths of the mountainous maw, dangerous tunnels of ice and salt abound with extreme threats. Do the Obsidian Elves within the nearby fortress protect these resource-rich catacombs, or do other dangers lie within?
    • An Obsidian Elven Fortress
Cloaked by the shadow of the mountainous maw lies an icy fortress ruled by Obsidian elves who engage in trade with some nearby communities. This scene features little-to-no threat and will have quests available for Avatars delving into the bitter cold of this frosty Mistrendur island.
  • On Slangemagge:
    • A Canyon Mines Scene
These canyons are abundant with resources that any Avatar would cherish. Albeit low threat, the snaking passages winding through this large scene have caused many adventurers to become lost within the endless labyrinth.
    • A Dragon-Worshiping Zealots' Scene
Dragons are majestic, vicious beings which inspire love and fear amongst the peoples of New Britannia. Here, in this low-to-medium threat scene, zealots worship and defend the giant winged beasts as if gods. How might they welcome strangers to their territory?
    • A Frozen Cliffside Monastery Scene
Nestled amongst the treacherous cliffside of this icy mountain lies an ancient and forgotten monastery. The undead monsters of middle-to-high threat which populate this all-but-forgotten place of worship seem quite eager to “greet” those that disturb their eternal rest.
    • Port Harmony: a main city serving as the arrival point
This prosperous city is the primary arrival point for Avatars coming to Mistrendur. Expect a thriving New Britannian populace with introductory quests for the new continent. The homes of this bustling city are connected by picturesque canals and the inhabitants use boats to make their way through the city. This scene features little-to-no threats.
  • On Slangeholle:
    • A Pirate Harrrrrbor Scene
Landlubbers beware! Ye be unwelcome here! ’Tis a high-threat port for pirates and pirates alone! Our crews will brook no trespassers, savvy?
    • A Crossroads Outpost Town for a New Race
At a crossroads, a new race of beings will govern a small wilderness outpost. Medium-to-high threats will be available in the areas surrounding the outpost within this scene.
    • A Norgardian Coastal City
This fortified Norgardian city is along a shoreline of a temperate region. This location has a potential rivalry with the Barbarian Coastal Village of Vikland, just across the channel. These Norgarders have an organized military and have mastered the ways of agriculture and animal husbandry. This scene will feature low-to-no threats.

Trivia

  • The land of Mistrendur was first added to Template:SotA in Build 1121 (2020/02/17) during Release 74. At that time, it was only reachable through teleportation or summoning by a GM.
  • A mockup of the map for Episode 2 showed three new islands to the north of Novia, including the Serpent Archipelago, Atos' Atoll, and the Chaos Isles, as well as some new small islands off the east side of Novia. The three new islands were themed for primary NPCs (Lord British, Atos, and Darkstarr), and also correspond to the Principles exemplified by the Virtues. This was preliminary, and when released only the land originally called the Serpent Archipelago was included.[1]
