Poison is a form of damage than the Avatar can inflict upon foes, or that the foes can inflict upon the Avatar.

Avatar using Poison on Foes

In this game, poison is applied to the avatar's weapon. While the poison is active on the Avatar's weapon, each melee attack that hits the enemy has a chance to inflict the poison upon the enemy. Poison can be used with any melee weapon attack skill in Blades, Bludgeon, Polearms, and Ranged trees.

In order for the Avatar to use Poison against foes the following criteria must be met:

Poison can applied to your weapon by either of the followng methods:

  • Drag the poison tack from your invenoty and drop it onto your Utility Bar. Then, click on the Poison icon in the utility bar to apply the poison to your weapon.
  • Place the poison in you Combat Bar. Then, click on the Poison icon in the Combat Bar to apply the poison to your weapon.
  • Right click on the poison in you inventory and select "use item".

Note that there are 2 duration stats that are relevant to each poison:

  • Duration that the poison is "active" on your weapon - this duration is how long your weapon will be capable of applying the poison to an enemy, and is determined by the level of your Poison Weapon Skill.
  • Duration of the poison's effect on the enemy after the enemy is poisoned - this is determined by the potion.

Many of the poison have effects that can stack if applied multiple times to the enemy. Most poison effects will stack a maximum of the 3 times.


Creatures Using Poison on the Avatar

Many creatures have the ability to poison the avatar. Poison attacks usually generate damage-over-time on the avatar, but they tend to inflict this damage over a relatively short period of time. So, in many cases, the Avatar can just let the poison's duration expire. However, in cases when the poison damage rate is high or the duration is long, the Avatar can consume a Cure Poison Potion to stop the poison damage.
