With a meticulous collection, the Resource Node was not consumed on the previous gather, so you are able to gather another time from the node. You can get multiple meticulous collections on a single node, with the number of back-to-back meticulous collections shown on the meticulous counter. Eventually, the node will run out of resources and the node will be consumed (so collection will stop and the node will disappear). With each meticulous collection, you are awarded both [[Adventurer Experience]] and [[Producer Experience]]. These experience awards show up in the loot window when the node is finally consumed (see [[Meticulous XP Awards]] for a description of these awards). Taking these reward items will automatically apply the reward value to both the [[Adventurer Experience]] and [[Producer Experience]] pools.

Template:Under Construction Template:Infobox Template:Tocright Resource Nodes are natural objects in the environment that can be Gathered if you have the appropriate tool equipped. Gathering a resource node will yield related Raw Materials.

To obtain raw materials from a resource node, the following requirements must be met:

  • You must have the appropriate Gathering skill learned.
  • You must have the appropriare Tool equipped.
  • The Tool must have more than zero Current Durability (if an equipped tool has 0 durability, you cannot gather a node. However. You can restore some of the tool's durability using a Repair Kit - Tool).
  • Hover your mouse over the resource node until your mouse pointer turns into the tool, then double-click on the node.

Each Resource Node in a scene can be either active (i.e. it has resources that can be gathered) or inactive (its resources are depleted). You can only interact with a Resource Node that is active.

Over time, inactive resource nodes will "re-spawn" and become active again.

Some resource nodes can be different tier levels. The Experience Points you will gain from successfully gathering a node, increases with higher tier nodes. Ore and Crystal Nodes have a visual display of different size nodes. The smaller nodes give low amounts of XP and the larger nodes give a higher amount of XP. In most scenes (but not all), the Tree, Ore and Cotton Plant nodes in a scene will be set to the tier level of the scene, and provide xp based on the scenes level.

If you successfully gather a resource node, there is an initial yield of raw material and Producer Experience. For Mining, Forestry, Field Dressing, and Foraging, if your initial gathering was successful, there is also a chance to obtain Meticulous Collections.

With a non-meticulous collection, you are only able to gather once from the Resource Node and then the node is consumed. In this case, only Producer Experience is awarded for the gathering.

With each meticulous collection, you are awarded both Adventurer Experience and Producer Experience. These experience awards show up in the loot window when the node is finally consumed (see Meticulous XP Awards for a description of these awards). Taking these reward items will automatically apply the reward value to both the Adventurer Experience and Producer Experience pools.

Ways to Make Gathering Resource Nodes More Efficient

Determining the Resource Nodes in a Scene

On the World Map, you can approach various Adventuring Scenes, and hover your mouse over the scene name. This will show you the Scene Information Window and a listing of all resource nodes that can be found in a specific scene.

  • Resources with white text have abundant nodes in the scene.
  • Resources in grey text have very few nodes available in that scene.

Trivia

  • Crafting: Resource Gathering will be added to crafting including resource nodes placed in the world. More recipes will also become available. NOTE: For R4, gathering includes tree chopping (wood), field dressing (animal hides), harvesting (cotton) and mining (ore).[1]
  • As of release 105, the Meticulous Collection text displayed over your characters head "Meticulous Collection x" is off by one. After having the initial, one time harvesting collection chance, when you have a first time meticulous chance, the text "Meticulous Collection x" number will immediately display the number 2.
