Increases success chance when fishing in lava.

Learning this skill allows you to fish in Lava. This is your base Lava Fishing Level. You can add to your overall Lava Fishing Level with certain buffs (see Lava Fishing Level for details). The higher your lava fishing level, the greater your chance of catching lava fish (especially rare fish).

To fish in lava, the following criteria must be met:

Once the above criteria are met, you can "bait your hook" by either of the following methods:

  • Right-click on the lures in your inventory, then click "Use Item" in the window that pops up.
  • If you have the lures on your Utility Bar, you can click on the icon in the utility bar.

After you bait the hook, the fishing reticle will appear. Move the reticle to the desired spot on the lava. If the lava does not allow fishing (i.e. the lava is too shallow to sustain fish), then the fishing reticle will appear red. If the lava does allow fishing (i.e. it is deep enough to sustain fish), then the fishing reticle will appear light blue.

When you have the reticle in the desired position, left-click the mouse. If the reticle was red, nothing will happen. If the reticle was light blue, then you will cast your lure into the lava and begin fishing.
