You can find a Wishing Well in many Adventuring Areas and NPC Towns throughout New Britannia. All of these objects have the same base model, but may have different decoration added to them that can vary from scene to scene.

There are two types of wells: a wishing well and a decorative Water Well. These wells look similar, and may be difficult to distinguish form each other. You can determine which type of well you are at by right clicking on the well. If you clicked on a wishing well, then the "examine" menu will appear. If you clicked on a decorative well, then "examine" menu will not appear. A decorative well can be interacted with to obtain a bucket of water (see #1 below), but wishing wells wells can be interacted with in 2 ways:

All of these objects can be interacted with in 2 ways:

2) Right click on them - when you right click on a wishing well, a small menu pops up that says "examine". If you click examine, you will be asked if you want to toss a coin in the wishes well. If you toss a coin in the well, you have a chance to receive a randomly selected reward (such as a book or fireworks). You can increase our chances of getting a reward by equipping a Ring of Luck, Ring of Luck, Greater, and or Water Magic Cloak.

Note: Decorative wells look like wishing wells (and can be found in Player Owned Towns and some adventure scenes), but they do not offer the option to toss in a coin. It most cases, the only way to distinguish a wishing well from a decorative well is to right click on it. If you clicked on a true wishing well, then the "examine" menu will appear. If you clicked on a decorative well, then "examine" menu will not appear. Coin tossing can only be done is the Wishing Well. Wishing Wells differ from other decorative wells wells that can also be found in various scenes. Wishing Wells specifically have an option when you right click on them, to throw in 1 gold. Doing so will reward you with a randomly selected item.
