This page refers to titles given to the Avatar.

General Info on Avatar Titles

A title is a cosmetic honorific added to a player's character name in Shroud of the Avatar. A player can choose what title is displayed for them in game.

Titles can be awarded a number of different ways. Players who pledged to back Template:SotA prior to release were awarded titles based on their pledge level. Players can also earn titles while playing the game.

To view the titles currently available to your avatar or change your currently displayed title, press the minus key ( - ) on your keyboard’s numberpad. This will open (or close) the Title window. Select the title you wish your avatar to display and press the “Set Title” button, or change your title using the same technique. You can stop displaying any title by pressing the “Clear Title” button.

Adventurer

Pledge at the Immortal Adventurer (Benefactor) level or above.

Ancestor

Pledge at the Ancestor (Benefactor) level or above.

Archduke

Pledge at the Lord of the Manor (Benefactor) level or above.

Archduchess

Pledge at the Lord of the Manor (Benefactor) level or above.

Archivist

Pledge at the Virtual Collector (Benefactor) level or above.

Artisan

Pledge at the Royal Artisan (Benefactor) level or above.

Associate of Aphids

Second title for participants in the 2020 reboot of the Bug Brigade.

Bachelor of Beetles

Third title for participants in the 2020 reboot of the Bug Brigade.

Baron

Pledge at the Lord (Founder) level or above.

Baroness

Pledge at the Lord (Founder) level or above.

Benefactor

Pledge at the Adventurer (Benefactor) level or above.

Bug Hunter

Base title for participants in the 2020 reboot of the Bug Brigade.

Captain

This grand title signifies your prowess! It can be purchased with Obsidian Medallions.

Caregiver

Complete the Solace Bridge Outskirts main quest.

Cartographer

Pledge at the Explorer (Benefactor) level or above.

Chaotic of New Britannia

Title awarded by Darkstarr.

Cinematic Visionary 2017

Title awarded for creating a cinematic trailer during a video contest in 2017.

Citizen

Pledge at the Citizen (Benefactor) level or above.

Colonel

This grand title signifies your prowess! It can be purchased with Obsidian Medallions.

Corporal

This grand title signifies your prowess! It can be purchased with Obsidian Medallions.

Count

Pledge at the Baron (Founder) level or above.

This title is awarded for the "Baron 1" pledge tier.

Countess

Pledge at the Baron (Founder) level or above.

Curator

Pledge at the Collector (Benefactor) level or above.

Dame

Pledge at the Knight (Benefactor) level or above.

Founders can choose to have this title in gold or black script.

Dame of New Britannia

For holders of the Order of the New Britannia Empire.

Doctor of Dragonflies

Fifth title for participants in the 2020 reboot of the Bug Brigade.

Duke

Pledge at the Duke (Founder) level or above.

Duchess

Pledge at the Duke (Founder) level or above.

Earl

Pledge at the Baron (Founder) level or above.

This title is awarded for the "Baron 2" pledge tier.

Edelfrau

Pledge at the Edelmann (Benefactor) level or above.

Edelmann

Pledge at the Edelmann (Benefactor) level or above.

Expert Pest Controller

Participate in the Testing Incentives Program.

Explorer

Players can set their title to “Hospitaller” as a signal they are available to provide specific help or newcomer recommendations.

Immortal Adventurer

Keeper of the Faith

Template:Main Enroll in the Rewards Program for 3 months.

Keeper of the Flame

Template:Main Enroll in the Rewards Program for 12 months.

Keeper of the Oath

Template:Main Enroll in the Rewards Program for 15 months.

Keeper of the Pledge

Template:Main Enroll in the Rewards Program for 18 months.

Keeper of the Vow

New players (or even veteran players) can set their title to “Outlander” as a signal to other players that they would like either specific help… or just general newcomer guidance.

Patron

Pest Controller

No longer Available. It was offered as part of the "Testing Incentives Program" (see the history section of the Bug Brigade page).

Pilgrim

Pledge at the Founder (Benefactor) level or above.

Pioneer

Pledge at the Adventurer (Founder) level or above.

Professor of Arcane Knowledge 2017

Title awarded for creating tutorials during a video contest in 2017.

Pugilist

Defeat an opponent in Courage Club.

Royal Ancestor

Pledge at the Ancestor (Founder) level or above.

Royal Archivist

Pledge at the Virtual Collector (Founder) level or above.

Royal Artisan

Pledge at the Royal Artisan (Founder) level or above.

Royal Cartographer

Pledge at the Explorer (Founder) level or above.

Royal Crier

During the Kickstarter, a contest was run to create YouTube videos to promote Template:SotA. The winners received the title of Royal Crier.

Royal Curator

Pledge at the Collector (Founder) level or above.

Royal Founder

Pledge any amount prior to May 20, 2013.

Royal Gardener

Reward for the winning team in Royal Gardeners Wanted contest.

Royal Knight Marshal
