Durability is a numerical score that reflects the the ability of an to last over time (with higher numbers indicating that the item can survive more wear and tear). There are 3 type of Durability statistics:

  • Maximum Durability achievable by Major Repair) - this is the highest durability that the item has even had, and the maximum possible durability that can be achieved by performing a Major Repair.
  • Current Durability Limit for Minor repair - this is the highest durability that can be achieved by nonperforming a Minor repair.
  • Current Durability - the amount of durability that remains on your item.

When you hover your mouse over an item, and information window pops up that shows the 3 durability stats on the item: the first number is the "current durability", the second number (which immediately follows the slash) is the "Current Durability Limit for Minor repair", and the third number (which is in parenthesis) is the "Maximum Durability achievable by Major Repair".

When you have an item equipped, and you engage in combat, the item will suffer some degree of damage over time. This damage is manifested as a decline in both the "Current Durability" and the "Current Durability Limit for Minor repair". However, the current durability falls much faster than the "Current Durability Limit for Minor repair".

When the Current Durability of an item reaches zero, the item will be "broken" and will no longer function. The best way to restore durability and make the item function again, is to performing a Minor repair (which will increase the Current Durability).

When the "Current Durability Limit for Minor repair" reaches zero, the item will be "broken" and will no longer function. However, in this case, a minor repair will not restore any durability. In this case, a Major Repair can restore durability and make the item function again
