The Upper Tears Gauntlet (referred to as just 'Upper Tears' or UT) is a cave-like area in the Upper Tears scene which hosts a gauntlet of undead skeletons and liches for daring adventurers to battle. The undead spawn on/near the three platforms in waves until the final wave is defeated. The gauntlet will start over and run indefinitely.
This gauntlet is a great way to gain adventurer XP and hone skills. Most adventurers choose to group up in this area (Alt + F for the LFG tool), as it is a difficult gauntlet, experience gain is increased from being in a party, and it is likely to encounter GM-skilled players to train your apprenticed skills. A group will usually run 7 of the gauntlets to attain 1 million XP (attenuated (att) XP from the 1 mil/hour limit).
To get to the cave, turn left after entering the Upper Tears scene and follow the river up to the waterfall where there is an entrance door underneath.
