A socket is a hollow area into which you can place a jewel or gem. A socketed item has a jewel or gem permanently fixed into the hollow area.
Player-crafted chest pieces, shields, and weapons can be socketed with either a Non-imbued Gem or an Imbued Gem. Player-crafted rings and necklaces/amulets can be socketed with either a Non-imbued Jewel or an Imbued Jewel.
Imbued Gems and imbued jewels cannot be socketed into Artifacts, Ephemeral Relics, or Pet/Summons Equipment. However, Artifact chest pieces, shields, and weapons can be socketed with a Non-imbued Gems and rings and necklaces/amulets can be socketed with a Non-imbued Jewel.
The recipes for socketing Non-imbued Gems and Non-imbued Jewel can be purchased from most NPP Alchemists, Magic Merchants, and Regent Merchants.
- Two-handed weapons must be socketed with 2 gems of the same type (using different types of gems does not work).
