Template:Infobox A Major Repair, which requires Crown of the Obsidians and a crafting table, will increase the Current Durability and the Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs of a non-Artifact item (To repair an artifact, see Artifact).

There is no limit on the number of major repairs you can perform on an item, but there is a drawback to performing multiple major repairs on an item (subsequent repairs will reduce the Maximum Durability).

Downside of Performing Multiple Major Repairs on an Item

Performing the first major repair on an item will restore the item's Maximum Durability to its highest possible value. For subsequent major repairs, less maximum durability is restored: The first repair restores 100%, the second restores 66%, the third 50%, then 40%, then 33%, and so on (by the twentieth repair, only 10 points will be restored to the item’s maximum durability).

How to Determine the Number of Major Repairs an Item Has Had

You can view the number of major repairs that have been performed on an item by hovering your mouse over the item, then when the information window pops up, press and hold the CTRL key (pressing the CTRL key shows additional information in the window including the number of major repairs).

When to Perform Minor Repair Versus Major Repair

It is most efficient to repair items with a Minor Repair until the Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs is zero (or close to zero), then perform a Major repair.
