- The Dread Artifacts each grant a unique and powerful spell that allows the Avatar to wield great power but over time will require great sacrifices.[1]
How to activate
- With the Dread Artifact equipped, you will also need the specific reagent used for each one in your inventory. To activate the power (spell), a specific sequence of words of power must be spoken. In the chat window, you will need to manually type the artifacts specific words of power. This will activate the one power (spell) of the artifact, and delete the reagent that is used for each one. This power can only be used one time, per reagent.

Converting the Dread Artifacts from Quest Items to No-Trade Patterns
The recipes for making these patterns only drop as loot if avatar has completed the related storyline to obtain the particular artifact.
The recipes for making these patterns drop as loot from certain Cabalists that have the anti-virtue of the item that is being converted:
- Dolus - drops the Recipe: Bonesteel Crown Pattern. Dolus is the cabalist of deceit, and the bonesteel crown once belonged to the Titan of Truth.
- Temna - drops the Recipe: Heart of Sorrows. Temna is the cabalist of despite (hate), and the Heart of Sorrows once belonged to the Titan of Love.
- Nefario drops the Recipe: Scepter of Dread. Nefario is the cabalist of dastard (cowardice), the Scepter of Dread once belonged to the Titan of Courage).
These recipes can only be used on the Obsidian Forge in Hilt Fortress.
Converting the No-Trade Pattern to a Trade-able Item that Can be Equipped or used AS Decoration
The trade trade pattern can be applied to a crafted item. Once the no-trade pattern is applied to an item, that player can do any of the following:
- Equip the item themselves and utilize it with the Dread Artifact visuals
- Trade/sell the item to other players at will.
- Use the item as decoration.
