Template:Infobox Obsidian Eye is a title that refers to the founder of the Obsidian Empire and subsequent member of the Cabal of Obsidians that are also given this position (also known as the Seventh Throne). It can also refer to lenses known as Obsidian Eyes.
Overview
The Obsidian Eye who founded the Obsidian Empire is unknown. Little it known of him, not even his original name. He was an orphan in a small village on the River Meino, near Rhun, where he stole the book known as Lamentation of the Fall, although he could not read it at the time. He had a talent for conjuring and shaping magic, and used it to aid farmers and travelers in the village.[1]
After he stole the book, he crossed the Vaughban Mountains into the Grunvald plain, eventually finding the first of the Shard Falls. Over time, he mastered this new magick, and others with the gift came to apprentice to him, eventually growing into the Obsidian Cabal.[1]
From his chamber in The Epitaph he used the Destiny Pool to foretell the Prophecy of the Obsidian Eye, which he believes meant the world was in chaos, and Obsidian order should return it to order.[2]

| The man had had a name in that time before but he decided that like the world in his book, his old self should pass away and a new self take its place. So he abandoned his name and became, instead, simply ‘the Obsidian Eye.’[3] |

| (After giving the Prophecy of the Obsidian Eye) “Yes,” the Obsidian Eye answered hesitantly.“What... what does it mean?” “It means the world must be ordered,” the Obsidian Eye said with a smile as he gazed at his still shaking hand. “And that it is our destiny to order it.”[4] |
