:Slot is designed to differentiate armor pieces that use the same school for skills, so it shows "Cloth Light Armor (Torso)" if the item has itemtype=Cloth, skill=Light Armor, and slot=Torso. It isn't designed for weapons; use itemtype for that so it appears in the correct location.
