South Paladis

Location:	Novia

South Paladis is a central region in Novia that sprawls north of the Ash Coast of the Bay of Storms. In times past, its main city was Opalis which has since fallen into ruin, and may be found along the South Broken Road between Bramble and Jaanaford.

To the west beyond the Shattered Hills, it is separated from Longfall by the Fogladden River. Forsaken Vale to the northwest may be accessed either by taking Vertas Pass between the Mariah Mountains and the Pillars of Night, or by traversing Superstition Canyon to the southwest of Highvale.

It is connected with North Paladis by the Sanctus Spine. On the northeast, beyond the Hinterlands, it is separated from Regalis by the Serpent's Spine mountains. To the east, passage may be made to Midmaer by passing between the Blackblade Range and Serpent's Spine via Nightshade Pass. The Blackblade Foothills along Northwest Blackblade Mountains form the southeastern border of the region.

Along the eastern side of the Ash Coast where the two branches of the Jaana River meet is a fishing village called Jaanaford. Further up along the western branch of the Jaana River lies Bramble. The embattled town of Highvale sits atop a ridge even further up the river, and the stronghold of Resolute lies in the mountainous regions to the north. On the eastern side of the ford along the Ash Coast lay the Sunless Barrens.

On the northern side of the mountainous area between the eastern and western branches of the Jaana River are the Middle Downs.
