Template:Infobox Location The Blackblade Range mountains form a natural north-south granite boundary between Midmaer and Paladis. They are 5,000 feet high and the only known way through them from east to west is the Nightshade Pass.
Legend has it that the Blackblade Mountains were caused to rise by an Avatar striking into the heart of the world with a sword, seeking to destroy the planet and end the war between gods and avatars. A peak known as the Hilt is reputed to be actual hilt of that sword, which the gods left in the wound rather than risking pulling it out.
