Essen is the High Chamberlain of Norgard and is found in the Throne Room of Valhold Palace.

If you have the quest Speak with Essen saying this will begin an escort quest where you must follow him. When they are ready click on them to speak to them. Say the words night of the crystal blades, fourth baton and request will give you the Speak with Demig quest.
