Quests in Shroud of the Avatar can be started in many different ways. For example: Overhearing a woman sobbing[1], you happen to find a very strange Mystical Looking-Glass in the steeple of a chapel[2], you find a report on a dead body[3] or the good old fashioned way, speaking to a NPC.
- When speaking to NPC's they sometimes will have keywords you can click on to receive a quest, and sometimes you will have to manually type in a keyword.
Once you receive a Quest, you will see a Task added to your screen that will also have a short description when you move your mouse over the Task and then a matching Journal Entry in your Journal, with more information related to the current quest.
You can double click on any Task and your Journal will open to the page that has more information for that specific quest. Or press the (default) J key to bring your Journal up at anytime to browse through all of your current quests.
Of note, the hover-over description on a Task is only very basic information of what to do. Some quests are much more detailed. Always read the actual Journal Entry for a quest to read all of the information on how to proceed with a quest.
