Repair Item (Major)

Major repair can be performed on most non-relic equipable items, including both Artifact and non-artifact items.

• Major repair cannot be performed on Pet Equipment or Tools.
• Relics cannot be repaired at all.

A Major Repair, which requires Crown of the Obsidians and a crafting table, will increase the Current Durability and the Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs/Ancient Essences.

There is no limit on the number of major repairs you can perform on an item, but there is a drawback to performing multiple major repairs on an item (subsequent repairs will reduce the Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs/Ancient Essences).

Downside of Performing Multiple Major Repairs on an Item

Performing the first major repair on an item will restore the item's Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs/Ancient Essences to the Maximum Durability. For subsequent major repairs, less Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs/Ancient Essences is restored: The first repair adds 100% of the maximum durability to the Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs/Ancient Essences, the second adds 66%, the third 50%, then 40%, then 33%, and so on (by the twentieth repair, only 10 points will be added to the item’s durability).

How to Determine the Number of Major Repairs an Item Has

You can view the number of major repairs that have been performed on an item by hovering your mouse over the item, then when the information window pops up, press and hold the CTRL key (pressing the CTRL key shows additional information in the window including the number of major repairs).

When to Perform Minor Repair Versus Major Repair

It is most efficient to repair items with a Minor Repair (for non-artifacts) or with an Ancient Essence (for Artifacts) until the Maximum Durability achievable with Minor Repairs/Ancient Essences is zero (or close to zero), then perform a Major repair.

Recipe

The Crowns of the Obsidians are consumed by the repair process. This recipe requires no repair skill to perform.
