Template:Under Construction Template:Infobox Template:Tocright no numbers Senet is the name that refers to an unknown organization in New Britannia. The name Senet in runic is found on the doors to both Bunker C and Bunker T and the name used in a cypher of notes that can be found.

Overview[edit]

Notes[edit]

Several notes bearing the name Senet are found in several scenes on the Novia continent.

Bunkers[edit]

Through a passage concealed in a mausoleum of the Aerie Graveyard one descends to the entrance of Bunker T.

A vault door bearing three rotating rings on each of which are inscribed five runes bars entrance until their riddle is decrypted.

The three inscriptions are identical. Translated to English, they read: S E N E T

The SENET Cipher[edit]

Letters are represented by six primary characters:

/ │ \ — > <

followed by those same characters coupled with a period:

/. │. \. —. >. <.

in turn followed by those same characters coupled with a colon:

/: │: \: —: >: <:

followed by those same characters coupled with a zero:

/0 │0 \0 —0 >0 <0

and finally with the initial two characters coupled with a figure eight:

/8 │8

for a total of 26 letters. All letters and punctuation marks are separated by a single space.

The specific letter associated with each character is determined by the letter missing from the alphabet at the top of the encoded page. That missing letter is represented by the first character ( / ). The following letters are represented in sequence by successive characters. The cycle continues from the end of the alphabet to the beginning.

Punctuation remains unchanged:

space . (period)

period .. (period period)

comma .: (period colon)

question mark 0 (zero)

exclamation point 00 (zero zero)

For example

A B C D E F G H I J K M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

The L is missing from the above alphabet, so the symbol representing L is /

Speculation[edit]

  • The door of the bunkers bear the name Senet and the door is a vital and critical functioning part of a bunker, and it is then assumed they are the organization who created these.

Trivia[edit]

  • Senet is an Ancient Egyptian word that means “passing.” It is the name of a game played with ten or more pawns on a thirty-square board during the time of Egypt’s New Kingdom (1550 – 1077 BCE).
  • The movement of the pawns through the spaces on the board reflected the concept of ka (an individual’s vital essence, part of the soul) passing through duat (the Underworld in Ancient Egyptian mythology).
  • Senet is therefore a fitting designation to be etched on the entrance to the underworld of a subterranean Bunker.
  • Note: On the outer rings of the doors accessing both Bunkers T and C, the second E of S E N E T is inverted.
