Applying a Pattern Remover to an item allows players to remove the customized appearance of that item.
Reshape Pattern Remover is a recipe that will remove a Pattern from an item and revert the item to its original appearance (without destroying/salvaging the item). This recipe can be used to remove a Consumed (non-eternal) Pattern or an Eternal Pattern, but only eternal patterns can be recovered during removal.
* Consumed Patterns - the pattern document is not recovered during removal (i.e. the pattern is permanently destroyed upon removal).
* Eternal Patterns - the pattern document is recovered during removal (i.e. the pattern is always preserved upon removal).

Patterns are consumable items that are used in the crafting system to reshape the visuals of an existing item while preserving the functionality and data associated with that item. Each standard pattern can be used exactly once and then it is consumed. Additionally, some items (such as Add-On Store and pledge rewards) contain Eternal patterns, which can be recovered with salvaging and applied to another item.
The recipes for pattern removal are already in your recipe book when you start the game. Each crafting station has its own version of the recipe. The crafting station that is used for the removal process depends on the item that is being reshaped.
* Blacksmithing Station - for heavy armor, shields, rings, necklaces, bladed weapons.
* Carpentry Station - for ranged, bludgeon, polearms, basement entrance, cask, furniture, chests.
* Tailoring Station - for light armor, back slot items, books, banners
* Alchemy Station - for player vendor

The ingredients for the Reshape Pattern Remover recipe are:
* 1 Item with a pattern applied to it already
* 1 Pattern Remover (these can be purchased in the Crown Shop)

Place these ingredients on the appropriate crafting table, and then click "Craft" (don't click "Salvage"!).
The Pattern Remover is consumed in the process, so each pattern remover can only be used once. If the item had a consumed pattern applied, the pattern is also consumed in the process (i.e. the pattern is not returned upon removal).

The yield of this recipe will be:
* The item, now without the pattern (so the item will revert to its original appearance)
* If the item had an eternal pattern applied, the recipe will yield the Eternal Pattern back (and it can be used again).

Reshaping with patterns will be restricted to the item type so that you can only reshape a helmet using a helmet pattern, or a 2-handed sword using a 2-handed sword pattern (i.e. you can't make a 2-handed sword look like a dagger).

 • Consumed Patterns - the pattern document is not recovered during removal (i.e. the pattern is permanently destroyed upon removal).
 • Eternal Patterns - the pattern document is recovered during removal (i.e. the pattern is always preserved upon removal).

The recipes for pattern removal are already in your recipe book when you start the game. Each crafting station has its own version of the recipe. The crafting station that is used for the removal process depends on the item that is being reshaped.

The ingredients for the Reshape Pattern Remover recipe are:

Place these ingredients on the appropriate crafting table, and then click "Craft" (don't click "Salvage"!). The Pattern Remover is consumed in the process, so each pattern remover can only be used once. If the item had a consumed pattern applied, the pattern is also consumed in the process (i.e. the pattern is not returned upon removal).

The yield of this recipe will be:

 • The item, now without the pattern (so the item will revert to its original appearance)
 • If the item had an eternal pattern applied, the recipe will yield the Eternal Pattern back (and it can be used again).
